Maxi-cosi Cabriofix Carseat

Just a quick question for anyone with the above carseat!

What age do/did you take the newborn insert out??

We took ours out when he was about 6/8 weeks, he's long and it was making his feet stick out the end of it!! x

Finn was a long one too, but i didnt realise i could take it out until he was 4.5 months LOL, but then again I never even realised there was an insturction booklet until my dad found the secret compartment and the as for the sun shade dont get me started, i had the thing for 3 months before realising i had one of those!

Hang on! Where is the sun shade??! I've not found that yet

So many people don't know about the sun canopy LOL. It's quite well hidden, at the back of the carseat there is a silver button I'll call it... push that and the edging around the carseat opens up and there is the canopy x

We only got ours a couple of weeks ago so had to take the insert out straight away

I was going to ring halfords and complain about the lack of instruction booklet (we'd ordered it online) when OH found the secret compartment with the booklet in Also i knew the sunshade was built in but i couldn't believe how well hidden it is!

I took the headrest out when LO was about 2mnths old but left the wedge in for another mnth so he could lie flat a bit more!

A friend of mine has the primmo viago and because it is so deep her LO can't poo in it!!!

I didnt think id take the inner bit out for a while yet? but shes almost 2 months and that seems when youve all taken it out! Ill check how she fits in tomorrow

I've only just taken it out now, at 4 months. I posted about this a couple of days ago, it seemed about 4-5 months was what most of the reply-ees did, but it depends on the baby

I have a separate head hugger for now, as I still want the hugger part, but the wedge means that she's not far back enough in the seat. She's a long baby

we took the wedge out at about 2 months as Jacob's very long and wasn't comfy at all ( I had to ask about this too as I didn't realise the wedge came out), then we removed the head hugger at 3 months as it was pushing him forward too much. I didn't want to but we had to. We knew about the sun canopy as ours was pulled out when it was getting fitted in the car but I never knew about the silver button, we just had a nose and were able to tuck it in nice and neat and out of the way. lol

I dont really like the look of the carseat without the sunshade up, i keep it up all the time
