Hi I had a major bleed and clots on weekend 26/10 but I had a scan on the Monday 29/10 and was told that all was fine even though my hcg had dropped on Sunday from 8800 to 8000, the doctor said given the amount of blood lost that this was to be expected.
I was told to come back in a week 5/11 for another scan which showed my baby had grown 10 mm but the sonographer told me to expect to miscarry. I had had no further bleeding or cramps when I saw the midwife after she said the printout from the scan didnt support what the sonographer said and tested me and said I was still pregnant.
I then saw yet another doctor who didnt look at the scan or the mw notes but said as my hcg had dropped on 28/10 that I would miscarry soon but she didnt want to give me anything to help. Which at the time I didnt want as I felt like everyone was conflicting each other, still do.
We told her then what the mw had said so she checked and said if I was still positive and had had no bleeding then to come back in 10 days. We are going back next week as I dont wish to go on my own and fiance can only get Wed coming off.
I am now 11 weeks pregnant or not so confused and trying not to dwell on it what will be will be, I have been doing pregnancy tests every other day as advised to, all still say posititve though they are feinter but have looked that up and they would be feinter at this stage as the hcg levels drop between 10&12 weeks.
I know that makes me sound quite positive but I am not I am just stating the facts so far.
So basically its been 17 days since my big bleed nothing has happened since if I am going to miscarry how long will it take?
Up until the last week I was still getting tender breasts, but this week all I feel is bloated and slowed down bowel and seem to be blooming as most women do as they hit the second tri.
I have been looking on the net but nothing I have found lets me know how long it will take me to miscarry naturally.
I appreciate any replies many thanks.

:hugs:. I am so sorry you`re going through this. Some MC happen immediately, others take longer, and some have to be medically managed. It is very subjective and unpredictable, that is probably why you are having a hard time finding info on it. I do hope that the your US tech. was wrong and that your LO is fine. Good luck with your appointment on Wed. I hope that you and your fiance get good news. :hugs:

Taking the pregnancy tests really means nothing, as by 11 weeks or so your hCG should be really high, and even after a m/c it can take several weeks for hCG to drop back below a detectable level. The intensity of the line colour really doesn't mean much. hCG tends to plateau when it reaches over 100 000.

I am sorry you are going through this, and I really hope your scan next week shows a healthy thriving bubba.

My miscarriages that started with bleeding usually took about a week to complete. I'm so sorry you are going though this....
