Hey ladies just wondering if we are allowed to eat a mcchicken sandwich with the mayo on it? Cos I kno I hav to avoid some mayo. X

I don't see why the mayo would hurt, but Mcdonalds has all kinds of fillers and additives I wouldn't advise during pregnancy.

As far as i know your not meant to. I normal get mayo on my mcchicken legand but now i say no sauce to them.x

Thanks ladies. Had really bad ms and feel like thts all I want. Xx

Isn't it just homemade mayo you're not supposed to eat? I would have thought mcdonalds as well as other fast food chains and restaurants would use bought mayo. you know like the massive jars you get in the cash and carry? Xx

Mc donalds mayo is fine, I've had plenty throughout my pregnancy and baby is fine! Enjoy x

You can have McDonalds mayo! It's homemade mayo that you need to avoid because it's made with raw eggs. With regards to nutritional content, it's not like you're eating them every day so get something that you fancy. X

Edit: just to say that the reason that the mayo is fine is because the eggs are pasteurised!

I knew I shouldn't have read this lol now I sooooo want one and oh out and kids sleeping!! Taxi??? Lol totally fine to eat it, it's only homemade you can't have apparently x

You don't need to avoid any mayo in this country. All our eggs are vaccinated.

Oh your in Scotland! If your near fife bring me one lol oh and a strawberry milkshake :-) x

but it has raw eggs in them..I'm not touching any until after birth just to keep in the safe side. I've always heard it was bad for you while pregnant so i'm keeping away from it even if it's not homemade there is still raw eggs in them unless you ask them what they put inside it.. I'd be careful

The mayo at McDonald's is fine as the eggs are not raw, they are pasteurised (treated with high temps). As is jarred stuff.

The mayo made at home or at 'fancy' restaurants will be made with raw eggs so it should be avoided.

I've had a few McChicken sarnies this pg and with my last!

I agree with the other ladies. The only thing you're suppose to avoid is homemade with raw eggs.

Last pregnancy I had many tuna sandwiches with lots of mayo. (Only way I'll eat mayo)

There really aren't that many things you should avoid during pregnancy.

Didn't read all posts but just wanted to say the mayo will be fine. It's made in a factory so it is totally safe. The only mayo you can't eat is homemade as it has raw egg. Factory made/produced is all pasteurised so it's fine.

And to all the people saying don't eat McDonald's while pregnant, one or two won't hurt. Different if people are eating only mcd, but a few treats here and there are fine. We're pregnant, not in food jail!! Enjoy anything you can get down!

This isn't true, the eggs are pasteurised, and therefore totally safe to eat.

Yes, definitely safe to eat as it is NOT made with raw eggs. Hellmans, Heinz mayonnaise etc is all perfectly safe.

Please enjoy the mcchicken sandwich for me also im in a far far land and their is literally no Mickey d's in sight, cant wait to get back. I got a laundry list of things i need to order from mcdonalds.:haha:

My midwife set this straight for me - apparently people often get confused about the mayonaisse issue, but any mayo from a jar is absolutely fine. It is only home made mayo that we have to avoid. So McDonalds is ok as they don't use homemade mayo.

Although just to warn you - I was craving a McChicken sandwhich a few days ago, I had one and it erm....re-appeared very quickly. I dont think I can ever eat one again
