I'm wondering if you lovely ladies can share your baby's birth weight, and tell me if they were measuring behind, on track or ahead?

I'm measuring about 7 days ahead and they keep saying that that baby might just be a big baby, and not measuring ahead. :saywhat: Then they asked me how big I was when I was born. I was 8lb4oz and my sister was 7lb12oz...so not HUGE, but not small babies.

Did anyone measure ahead and have very large babies? Or are they just worrying me? haha

Thanks ladies!!

I measured 3 weeks ahead.. Went into labour at 38+3 and he was 8lb 12oz xxx

Measured 4-5 weeks ahead both pregnancies. Had big babies (2nd would have been same size or bigger than first if left for another 3 weeks like him).

Thanks ladies!

A little scared now. LOL I'm not even 5'2".

I measured bang on with my little boy, and he was born 1 day past his due date weighing 8lb9oz!!

7 days ahead is nothing!!

I'm 5ft 9 measured on track and my baby girl was 6lbs12 born at 39+5!

My aunty was measuring like six weeks ahead and her baby was 7lbs. I also have a friend that was told to induce labour early due to having a 'maasive' baby and he was only 8lbs. It's really impossible to know until they are born.

Scans and fundal height measurements aren't always accurate!

Snap - Though to be fair measuring a week ahead is nothing and doesn't mean anything at your gestation.

LOL Thanks! I think my hoohaa was about to cry. :haha:

Measured 2/3 weeks ahead from 25 weeks with my second. Born 40+6 @ 9lb 3. I'm 5ft and pretty tiny..... Had the biggest bump ever!
My first I measured spot on and he was born 40+1 @ 7lb 10.

I don't think at 14 weeks you have anything to worry about. It's far to early to be measuring fundal height x

They didn't use fundal height, they still measured baby from crown to rump I believe. Hmm, wonder if that makes a difference.

14wks is so very very early to be worrying about baby 'measuring ahead' !!

I was measuring 4weeks ahead at 36wks & had to have 4 extra scans as I was booked for a home birth and my MWs were a little paranoid, yet my girl was born weighing an average 8lb 7.

Well in the UK we only get two scans. At your stage we would have only had a dating scan and so no talk of 'measuring aheas'. Don't worry yet xxxx

I measured ahead by two weeks via fundal height around 32 weeks, and subsequent growth scans also had DS as two weeks ahead. He was predicted to be around 9lbs at birth.

What he was, was 7lbs 10oz, and just a little taller than average. We ended up having family buy us newborn clothes as all we mostly had was 0-3 months because of the predictions.

Thomas= measured perfect for dates, was 7lbs 4oz at 40+6

Sophie= measured ahead, up to 3 weeks, was 7lbs 15oz at 39+2

When I was 26 weeks, I looked about 16 wks and only measured 23 wks.
36 week growth scan measured her weight at 7lbs 7.oz, slightly bigger than she average.
She was born at 41 wks, and weight 9lbs 1oz (With little gas and air, and in a birthing pool. That helped!)
8 week check, she weighed 12lbs 2oz
10 weeks, she weighed 12lbs 12lbs
I have a little fat lump, who could wear 3-6 months at 2 months old.

I measured 1 week ahead and baby was 10 lbs 13 oz, 8 days overdue. But I delivered the old fashioned way with the help of forceps, no problems.

I was measuring 5 weeks ahead and had to have regular growth scans. I was predicted at least an 8lb baby. I was induced at 37 weeks and LO weighed 6lb 12oz..

I always measured between 1-3 weeks ahead and LO was 7lbs 14 when born at 41+1. why are they even measuring you at 14 weeks, that's insane

Well, ok.

Based on my LMP my due date would be July 22, 2014. But I have short cycles (24-25 days) and that calculation doesn't quite work for me. So I've always measured a little ahead....even though they refuse to adjust my EDD based on LMP.

Do if by my scan today (which I measured 15w1d) my EDD should be July 10th. They're really stubborn and now have me worried about a huge baby. They kept saying, "well, you're due date is July 22nd, so you must have a very large baby coming". :dohh:

I measured 10 weeks ahead lol my 'little' boy was 9lb 7oz born the day before his due date :) 7 days isn't much, try not to worry yourself Hun x
