My LO has just been prescribed new meds for her reflux. I've to give her 0.44ml at a time (how can such a small amount even do anything?!) but my eyesight is soooo bad I can't make out the markings on the 1ml syringe they gave me. Any ideas? Obv when its such a small amount a few points of a ml error will make a difference xx

you can get 0.5ml insulin syringes but i dont think you'll find a 0.44 one.

id just buy a 1ml oral syringe & use half it & as close to 0.44 than you can. I doubt youre being as exact as 0.44ml anyway as its a baby & they dont swallow 100% of it.

True enough about them not swallowing it all. My dad is diabetic so will see of he has any 0.5mls, just though there must be some aspects of medicine where the does has to be really accurate and they'd have the correct syringe size. Thank you for your reply :) xx

I'm a nurse and have never used anything less then a 1ml syringe. How about you draw a line with a marker at the 0.44 line so you can see it easier?

oh good idea about drawing a line, will do that and try and get a 0.5ml from my Dad. Sucks having crap eyesight!!! Thanks ladies x

I buy 1cc syringes for the dogs. They have markings for each .1, so you could pretty easily get .44 (though the .04 would be a bit of an approx).
