I have 2 week old and am in Rainham, dont have many mates as I am not originally from here but would love to know of some meets or classes etc that mums go to to socialise....

I've lived here for about 3 years ish, moved over this way to live with hubby but tbh it's the best thing I ever done moving to Maidstone! Love being a mum, were just entering the joys of walking which is interesting! Where are you from?

Aww walking! I bet you have had to move everything up a level now. My friend has a 17 month old and he is a darling but a terror at the same time!! Lol. He likes turning the TV on and off and pressing buttons on everything!! I am from Strood. Hi Cassysuri how are you?

Sorry have only just seen your post!

Am in Chatham and so far am really enjoying pregnancy!

Am going to hopefully be taking 9 months or so off work, what about you?

Aww I am in Strood so you never know we may meet at mother and baby meetings or something lol. Not that Id know who I am looking for. Yes this is our first baby and I am hoping to be off for at least 9 months...longer if we can afford to!! Have to wait and see how everything pans out. I am really enjoying pregnancy to. What is your birthing plan?? Not long to go for you now!!! Are you excited / nervous / prepared ?!!?

Yep maybe we'll meet up somewhere down the line!

Am currently writing my birthing plan although it's giving me a headache reading up on all the different options etc! Am hoping to go for a water birth (if a pool is available) but i'm such a woss i think i'll end up having an epidural! What about you? Are you having your baby at Medway Hosp?

Am soooo excited now though - feel baby move so much and i just want to meet him / her! Do you know what sex you're having?

Aww I bet. I feel my LO move round loads to so cannot wait for D day!!! I'd like to opt for water / pool birth if pool is available and yes it'll be at medway!!

Are you going to go on a tour of the maternity area at Medway? Am hoping to arrange this soon so will be able to ask some questions and see any more pools they have!

Not been to any ante natal classes yet have you? I have a full day one booked in June that should be covering everything!

Aww I had one booked in June but had to rearrange for one in July as my Hubbie couldn't make it....called Active Birth?!!?

I would like to go on a tour but wouldn't know how to begin on arranging it.......ask MV at next appointment I suppose???

Yep the one I'm going to is called active birth too - it's 9am - 4pm! Will let you know what it's like if you want.

I have a MW appt next Fri so will ask her then about arranging a tour of the maternity ward at Medway. Been reading up on water births today, all good things, so hope the pool will be free!

However it wasn't what I expected - I thought you had to do all the breathing exercises and different birthing positions etc. There were so many expectant mums there that there was no space so a midwife just went through all the details and we listened.

On the other occasion they take you round the maternity ward and show you what they have available.

Breathing exercises and birthday positions is what I was expecting from the all day class so will see what it's like. Wanna try breast feeding so hope there's something on that!

Forgot to let you know, MW said I can do a hospital tour and is meant to be calling me and a few other ladies to arrange a date but haven't heard anything yet. Hope it gets arranged soon! Hope you're doing well x
