Hi mamas, Im having my first baby in the next couple weeks and booked an appointment to meet the (possible) pediatrician. This is my first baby so I was wondering if I could pick your brains for questions I should ask and things I should check on before b=really settling for my child's doctor.

The main issues to me are vaccinations and over-medicating. I'm not an anti vaxer by any means but I dont like the idea of giving a baby vaccines in one day and over load his body with aluminum. And on the meds, Im not a believer in taking a lot of medicine, unless very necessary. For example, I would rather have a headache for 2 days than take a tylenol, but if the ain is too great I'll take it. I just avoid it as much as possible.

Anyways, can you guys share some questions I could ask and maybe some things I should be aware of when picking the pediatrician?

Thank you in advance!

Hey, I'm right there with you on the vaccines. Most people don't give the aluminum any thought and I find that strange. I'd ask about that and any other parenting decisions you have thought about and feel strongly about. For example: bed sharing or not, feeding method, sleep training philosophy, et cetera.

If they are available after hours, on call, weekends, etc and if they charge for after hour phone calls. Views on breastfeeding, if u plan to do that. I can't remember other questions now but if you Google pediatrician interview forms, or something like that, you will find actual questionare forms. I did that and printed a few dif ones and chose the questions I liked best from each
