mens tests at Northampton fertility clinic

Hi Everyone,

I've been a member for approx 5years now and we still haven't had our chance for a little one. But I think alot is due to DH and my size so this year I had a gastric bypass and have lost 5st since Feb

I've had my bloods done (a couple of years ago) and been told I have low progesterone and we've been dithering getting DH tested. So today he rang our doc who is happy to write to our local fertility hospital (Northampton) and now we're waiting for a letter.

Has anyone been in our situation and know what happens?

Also I've just been on the clinic's site and it says about paying. Do you have to pay for the inital sperm tests?

For us it dh had to make appt & was given instructions on abstaining for 4/5 days before it & making sure we got specimen to lab within 2 hours. You're asked to keep it at body temp by putting sample jar in pocket or inside clothing. They gave him results at next appt but said if it hadn't been a satisfactory he wd have had to wait at least 12 weeks before doing another analysis.

Hope you get good results, there are a few things you can do to improve it but it generally takes 8-12 weeks to start having an effect.
