I'm 4 weeks & on metformin, Folic A 5mg & asprin 75mg. Had 2 early mcs before due to pcos. Recurent mc tests all normal. I spotted a bit today & im wondering if these meds are helping me sustain this pregnancy. Both my previous mcs started with spotting & i'm so worried. Are there anyone with similar experience and had a success story????????????????

With my mc I had come off met when ttc as per the Dr orders - I mc at 7-8 weeks - I knew I was mc as I had taken a clear blue digi at 4 weeks and it said 1-2 weeks, then, 3 weeks later another test said the same - the mw sent me to epu and scan and bloods showed I would mc and I started to bleed a few days later.
I saw a consultant in the gynae dept and he advised to go back on the met and stay on till 16 weeks if I got pg - which I did. I also took low dose aspirin but not on any medical advice ( naughty I know ) - I stopped the aspirin at 27 weeks. I took folic acid in my pg vits and B100 complex which also contained folic acid - but not 5 mg.
It is my due date today ( still waiting for Ollie to arrive - can't wait!! ) so I guess this is a success story

I'm on metformin and was before pregnancy as I am diabetic and there's been no mention of taking me off it only adding a little insulin if my blood sugars start climbing though am 32 weeks today and all is well. I take aspirin and LMW heparin as well due to a clotting disorder and will be stopping the aspirin at 36 weeks and the heparin the day before my induction. All I can say is that they don't stop metformin automatically in pregnancy anymore so would go back and not leave till you get an explanation!

yes mine is for PCOS as well. the consultant said that since all my blood tests and chromosome tests were normal. my 2 previous mcs were due to pcos and hormonal imbalance. Hence, she put me on those meds and reassured me that it wont happen again this time. i asked about spotting and progesterone but she was very adamant that i wont be needing it. so i believed her. But 2 days after i got my BFP, i spotted and in a panic mode, i am taking matter into my own hands and i have ordered progesterone cream which i shall be using once i get it.
