Metformin results and side effects?

Hi Everyone

Well i'm now a year into ttc baby no2 and no luck so far includinf Clomid rounds and alsorts of other things lol. I've tempt,charted etc for what seems like forever.

So I don't ovulate on my own without clomid or stimms, i'm not your typical pcos candidate and they have said i may or may not have it as my ovaries can be cyctic but not like those of pcos - god knows what they are on about anyway as a last ditch attemp before IVF they have suggested Metformin and a monitored clomid round followed by an injectible round. Has anyone had good results with Metformin?

Also i've heard they can make you feel sick? They said to start with one tablet then work up to 3 times per day - how long do i leave before upping the dose?

Sorry for all the questions ....my first scan is next tue CD10 lets see what they find haha - oh apart from the 3.5cm cyst that will not disappear the damn thing has been with me since the beginning of the year!

I never ever ovulated on my own, I have PCOS with no PCO's. I took metformin and started ovulating on my own. My cycles were always long(3 to 4 months apart), and even on metformin they stayed long but I was actually ovulating. It wasnt until I had a MC that my cycles were regular. I am so happy to be on metformin. I have heard that being on metformin for a few months before clomid helps too. Good luck.
my dose is 1500mg metformin
All I got from met.. was diarrhea, really bad...so bad that I actually had to stop on the highway, more then once ...but after a few months the diarrhea went away and now its as if I dont even take it. Its hard to deal with the diarrhea, but you have to remember why you are taking it and that it does get better. I started on 1500 from the start because I was impatient and didnt want to slowly up my dose...I think either way you will get the diarrhea problem, I personally know someone who took it slowly and worked her way up and she dealt with the same issues I did!!

Hiya Thank you so much for your reply. Well i took my first tablet last night about 7pm and i'm already rushing to the toilet and feeling very sick!!!! Thats really interesting about the dose - thank you!!

How are you getting on now? Hopefully feeling better and well on the way to ttc

it gets better!
three years this month TTC, BFP in feb on first round of clomid but ended in MC...im on my second cycle of clomid since MC and get to test in a few days.

My side effects are much better now so i'm thinking i'll up the dose next week

I have been testing since yesterday, today is only 7 dpo so I still got some time...all have been negative so far. I couldn't help but start testing because I got my bfp last time on 7 dpo.
