XOX

Pusskins,
I really never had a problem with OV just had small non viable eggs but my doc said it may take a month or more for the meta to work. So good luck.

I took Metformin for total of 5 weeks. I had an op to remove my ovary and then had mirena coil removed. AF was just not showing so doc put me on Metformin. exactly 7 days after taking it, I had a period. I then ovulated on CD15, and then got my BFP on 11DPO. Hope this helps you -x-

Hiya Pusskins.
I started taking Met on cd 7 and i ovulated on cd 23 and AF showed up on cd35. This is 6 days shorter than my previous cycle.
I am now on cd14 of my next cycle so i will let you know if it makes me ovulate earlier this month.
Good Luck x

WOW, congratulations.

I hope that works for me.
I've been taking Metformin now for nearly 2 weeks, no sign of af yet :(
Maybe I ovulated first.

Hope you have a happy, healthy pregnancy.

I've been taking it all this cycle (started on day 1) and nada.Hopefully it works for you though. It could be because I actually have no blood glucose/insulin issues at all that it does nowt for me

I have been taking Metformin for about a year and a half now and although it has regulated my cycles, but according to my blood tests I'm still not ovulating.(I may only ovulate once every few months).
I know it has worked really well for others though so it's well worth giving it some time to do it's thing. Good luck hun.

Thanks for the comments everyone.
For everyone that it has helped, what mg Metformin were or are you taking?
I'm on 500mg and still no af :(

Did your doctor not tell you to up it after a few weeks? Mine told me to take one tablet for 2 weeks so my body got used to it then i was told to up it to 2.
How long did you say you had until you go back? Maybe you could ask about it then.

I'm taking 850mg twice a day. It started off as 850mg once a day and then increased over a couple of weeks.

It took a while for metformin to get things moving for me. I started TTC in Feb '06, started metformin in Oct '07, was ovulating by the spring of '08 and got my :bfp: in May '09.

I did find it regulated my periods after a few months, I was on 500mg x 3 daily. I was given clomid during 2008, but that didn't work for me. It did give me EWCM though. The cycle I got my :bfp: I somehow managed to produce EWCM on my own for the 1st time in a long while.

So I do think metformin helped, though it's not a cure-all and you may have to be patient for it to take effect.

Good luck :hugs:

Wow, thanks for that. I am feeling more and more confidant with the metformin now.
Did the metformin help you produce EWCM or was it the clomid?

Congratulations and I hope you have a happy and healthy 9 months :D
