Metformin

I have been taking metformin for the past 10 days now. I got prescribed it late in a cycle so I believe it was past the time when it could have helped me to ovulate. But now my period is five days late, all preg tests are negative. I am thinking it's the metformin that has affecting my period but since I have never taking before I have nothing to compare it to. Have any of you ladies on metformin had your periods change or delay when you first started taking it? Thanks in advance for any advice.

I had no change in cycles from it. I did ovulate before I started it and had regular 28/29 day cycles.
