hi everyone blake went for his first appointment the other day and they are looking at adhd and asd, they want him to have a microarray blood test and was wondering if anyone could share some light on it as i cant find much online x

I actually dont know a lot either, but my asd daughter had one and it came back as nothing could be found. However i was told that with medical advances in the future it may be that one day something is found via bloods. So they arent conclusive as such.

Microarray tests the chromosomes looking for abnormalities...deletions, duplications, translocations. Many medical issues and developmental delays are chromosome related, so they're just trying to rule out a medical reason for your child's delays. My daughter has a translocation but her geneticists don't believe it's related to her medical issues.
