Is this safe to eat as long as it is cooked until hothothot?

Why would it not be? Of course it's fine to eat. My doc always says eat what you would normally. He's been in practice for over 4O years, and says most food warnings are Silly. Just cook thoroughly, eat in moderation, any you will be fine.

I know that reheated rice can be dangerous in terms of food poisoning so thought I would ask..

Awwww Tami!! I did exactly the same the other week! I have always had it drilled into me not to microwave rice and then Uncle Ben goes and throws a spanner in the works!! I love them as a quick lunch for work and I panicked when I'd eaten one and remembered I was pregnant!! People reassure me it's fine! Lol

Thanks hun, I feel a bit better now knowing you've actually eaten some, lol.
What can I say, first baby madness, lol.

I'd say it's fine. I'm with Catherine, I have pretty much been eating the same way I did before. Of course use common sense, but don't worry too much. I think the recommended time to microwave those Uncle Ben's rice things makes it pretty hot hot hot so it should be safe.

You're right, reheated rice can give you food poisoning but that's in terms of precooked (ex like reheated chinese). Uncle Ben's is sealed & should be fine.

i have never even heard that rice was bad to reheat. instead of tossing it in the microwave you could heat it on the stove top in a skillet so that you know it got heated evenly if you are really worried about it. I think though, with the packaging sealed completely air tight and not being opened until after you've cooked it up there wouldn't be anything to worry about

oooops Ive had re-heated chinees before :haha: and Im fine I think they even say oh you shouldnt microwave anything please is there anything we are allowed? I even had a runny egg one day but it was in 2nd tri oh and I had a subway one day too shock horror lol....... my family always say what did they do in the old days when non of these rules existed lol xx

I had some for dinner last night, the one in the pot with the sauce. I just cooked it for a tad longer, to make sure it was piping hot :flower:

I'm with you. I haven't really eaten any differently than before I was pregnant. My mom didn't have all these crazy rules and I am fine. :)
