Middle name help

I think we are pretty settled on the name Imogen, nn Immie (although still not 100% certain, it's like we are too scared to commit to a name before seeing her).

Anyway we're trying to decide on a middle name. We want to use family members names as Middle, and plan on taking it from his side as if we have a little boy next time, he'll have my dads name as his middle name. So our choices are either Ellen or Elizabeth. I love Ellen, but I'm worried Imogen Ellen doesn't sound quite right with the 'en' sounds at the end of both names. Does it sound silly to you ladies when you read it? Everyone I've asked says we should use Elizabeth, but I prefer Ellen as a middle name out of the two. Just looking for opinions really, and whether they sound silly together to someone new as I've said it so many times now it just feels right! Lol. Also, middle names are rarely used with first names, it's just on legal documents which makes me think I should go with Ellen! Lol.

I think it sounds fine together - but I see your concern with the double -en sound at the end of both names. Did any of the Elizabeth family members go by a nickname? Like: Imogen Eliza is cute or Imogen Ella - any variations like that a possibility?

Elizabeth is a middle name of his family member so it never got shortened. I love Imogen Ella but it just doesn't seem like we are using a family name then as we had considered that. Does it sound silly? Do you prefer Imogen Elizabeth? Thank you for the response

I think Elizabeth does flow a little bit better.. but tbh, if you love Ellen.. then go with that!

I don't think Imogen Ellen sounds "silly" - if you prefer this name - I think it's certainly useable!! (I think the -gen sound and the -len sound make it a tad different, if that makes sense!)

I just personally prefer Elizabeth & think Imogen Elizabeth sounds slightly better.

If you like Ellen better I'd use that! Doesn't sound silly to me, but I see what you mean about the endings

Imogen Eliza sounds lovely to me...is that an option instead of Elizabeth?

Elizabeth definitely sounds better but I do like the name Ellen better. We are using Elizabeth as our middle name, but only because it's after my MIL.

Go with whichever one you love. I know what you mean about the -en sound but I think it sounds lovely. They sound different enough to me as. I say it more Im-o-gin Ell-en if that make a difference. If I'm completely honest I don't like the name Elizabeth at all but that's just me. Imogen in a really cute name. I suggested it to DH in the past but he doesn't like it!

Imogen Elizabeth sounds more classic, however, I actually think Imogen Ellen sounds very pretty and also it's way more unique than Elizabeth. Elizabeth is such a common middle name, I feel like 90% of the girls I know are named Something Elizabeth. It might be a US thing idk where you live. But if you prefer Imogen Ellen I would definitely go with that, it seems more special to me.

Also Imogen nn Immie is so pretty
