midwife appointment

saw the doctor today and he said he doesnt really get involved with pregnancy's he leaves it to the midwife. He has told me to make an appointment with the midwife i am just over four weeks is this to soon for an appointment what will my first appointment involve

Know where I live (south Lincs), that i saw my gp , she referred me to the experts(her words) the community midwife. Saw her at about 9 weeks, she said they often don't see ladies until after the dating scan, so pregnancy has been confirmed as viable. Good luck on your big adventure

My MW had to book my 12 week scan!!

And good GP lol You should be able to see your GP & MW through pregnancy ... any worries etc.

Book in with MW assuming he told you how you do that? She'll just ask you how far along and book you in for when its normal for them to see you in yoru area.

My Doc also told me to make an appointment with a obs/gyno at the hospital ASAP. He said to book now as they might get booked up in advance.

Your first appointment is basically 45 minutes of filling out forms about you, your history, your partners history and your contact information lol

I'm 8 weeks this week and have my first MW appointment (at my GP surgery) today. My dr referred me to the hospital for my scan which is in another 4 weeks and told me to book in with the surgeries MW when i am nearly 8 weeks.

As i say, my MW appointment is today so il let you know how i get on and what happens.

I saw the midwife at 5 weeks, she said definately not too early to see her (i was worried i'd booked an appointment too soon) she said its better to get the ball rolling asap. I was only there about 15 mins, she gave me the pregnancy book thing.. which you have to take to every appointment and told me to fill in as much as possible before next appointment in December. i was 5 wks when i first saw my m/w too lots of forms to fill out she give u an edd and give u pg notes and bottle to pee in for next app
