So i'm 22+3 and have seen my mw twice, once for booking in at 8 weeks, then again at 16 weeks (ish). since seeing her i'be had my scan and been hospitalised for a huge bleed. i'm not due to see her until 28 weeks, which seems ages away. Has anyone else just made an appointment to see their mw in between the actual care plan? i'm thinking of trying to see her this week, just to have urine tested and for a listen in! Don't want her thinking i'm being neurotic

My midwife said she'd be happy to see me in between scheduled appointments if needed.
I think it perfectly reasonable you'd want to go sooner than 28weeks given your bleed.

You can definitely make an app and go see her. My midwife said it's so long between apps and if I feel like I need to be seen she's happy to see me whenever xx

I agree with the others - I'm sure they would be fine about seeing you. You could always ring and have a chat to let them know why in advance if it makes you feel better.

I'd definitely make an appointment, you see your midwife every 4 weeks in NZ and then more often as you get further along.

I know how you feel. I'm high risk and had a bleed but I wont see my midwife till 28 weeks also. Last time I saw her was at 13 weeks and she thought I was further along than I was. I hate this huge gap in between.

I rang today but mw isn't in the doctors surgery this week but have made an appointment for next Thursday. They didn't ask why just if it was my firest appointment with her! x

Wow! In Canada (BC) we see doc or mw every 4 weeks. From 32 weeks onwards every two or weekly and once full term every week. Make an appointment. If your mw is good, she'll take you in esp. Since you've had bleed.

Same in Portugal. Although to be honest its a bit of a waste of time because we end up waiting for 3 hrs to see a doctor for 4 mins. We are doing our appointments with a private MW this time. We dont see her as often but she spends at least an hr with us and I can phone her any time.
