Hi girls
Can't remember if I posted yesterday or not saying that I had to go to hospital and get checked again because of the queried pre eclampsia, anyway I did and blood pressure is still up a bit and urine still showing protein but they don't seem overly concerned about that at the moment and are just keeping a close eye on us both, we're seeing midwife every few days to be checked so thats reassuring.
Annnnnnyway, I also said that movement had seemed to slow down a little so they were great and said they'd put me on monitor - turns out baby is quite active in there still but for some reason I'm just not feeling it as much now as I was, no idea why, so anyway they sent me for a growth scan and said that they'd check baby size and also amount of water she's in and what have you. Sonographer was fantastic, really explained things well and showed me exactly what she was looking at and why and every little detail. After she'd checked sizes and everything she got a really good face profile shot of her for me - I was amazed at how much I could see, she's got these gorgeous chubby little cheeks and she was sucking away and blinking - she has biiiiiiiiiiig eyes bless her, and she kept waving her little hand like she was saying hi to us hehe!
But back to the point of the post lol - I'm looking through my notes and at the scan print out sheet thing and am trying to work out what sizes things mean but the abbreviations have thrown me - do any of you know what they mean?
Here is my list of questions...
Placenta: Fundal
Site: Clear of OS
BPD: 91.0mm
FL: 74.0mm
HC: 350.0mm
AC: 333.0mm
What do all these things mean??

At my 20 week scan it said placenta anterior but now its fundal - what does that mean??!
Yesterdays scan sheet also says AFI 80 on 10th centile.. Whats that mean?!

Sorry for all the questions - I would have asked sonographer but only got the printed green sheet thing once she had finished with me and got her next person in! x

Hi there,
These thing's always confuse me to and with pregnancy brain I always forget to ask, but last time I went i pick up an abbreviations sheet so hope this helps!
Not sure about 'site clear of OS' or 'Placenta: Fundal' but i no these following abbreviations:
BPD: 91.0mm - Bi-parietal diameter - head width
FL: 74.0mm - femur or thigh bone lenth
HC: 350.0mm - Head circumference
AC: 333.0mm - Abdominal circumference
So glad everything went well for you and hope some else can help with the other things!
:)

i think fundal placenta means the placenta is not at the back its at the front

"Location--Ultrasound also can show where the placenta is implanted within the uterus. It may be at the top (fundal), toward the back (posterior), or toward the front (anterior). All are normal.

If the placenta is near the front, the mother may not be able to feel her baby's kicks as early or as well as if it was implanted toward the back, because when the baby kicks, the force is muffled (as if he were kicking a pillow). This kicking is normal and does not harm the placenta."

Ahhh thank you hun, I've just measured those out on a tape measure and they look really small!! I don't know what I was expecting, an elephant I think after the dream I had last night that I gave birth to a baby who looked at least three months old!!!

Thankyou x

Thanks Cupcake too - didn't see your reply until after I had replied! Was about to go OH MY GOSH is that normal - then I read where you'd said 'All are normal" phew - muchlio relieved lol! x

Anyone know what any more of the abbreviations mean? x
