for the past 2 days I have had a horrible headache and now today it has turned into a migraine followed with vision issues, stiff neck and back. Anyone else experience this, or should I call my OB?

I read they are more frequent in pregnancy but as someone who normally has upward of 4 a month I have not had any during this pregnancy. It doesn't harm to call and get some reassurance xxx

A migraine on its own is terrible but not usually a concern, however changes in vision aren't good. Do you normally have any vision changes if you have a migraine? I would call my doctor about this. I think they would want to monitor your blood pressure at least.

I get migraines when pregnant (and normally but very very infrequent then)
Vision changes though are worth getting looked at, I'd call your gp.

Well I ended up calling, he put me on bed rest for a few days. Although I am worried how to tell my boss I can't be here the rest of the week.

The doctor feels like I have a infection due to a low grade fever. He wants me to rest until monday and come back in to see him.

But I mean all I do all day is sit at a desk.

Every week for the last 5 I have been experiencing 2 day migraines. When I spoke with my Doctor yesterday he wanted to take my blood pressure right away to rule out any "risks". He said they are hormonal. Unfortunately Tylenol doesn't touch my migraines even a little bit and he said that if they continue that the next step will be Morphine. I want to avoid that at all costs, I am not even comfortable taking tylenol. I have found that a little bit of caffeine does help, and more so half a can of coke has been the best reliever. Good Luck, I really hope they do not last too much longer for you!

I go through phases of migraines, this past week or so has been OK, but I found rest and a bit of chocolate, lots of fluids and/or Capri son/lucozade helps. I got my blood pressure and blood sugars checked, all is fine but worth checking. It's horrible, but you can also take co-codemol!

I get hormonal migraines outside of pregnancy. I've been lucky to only have a couple so far during. My doctor told me to go ahead and take Tylenol and drink some caffeine immediately to try to keep from getting one if a headache starts, because there's so little you can do.

Try not to feel guilty about having to miss some work. If your doctor thinks it's for the best then just enjoy the extra sleep.

I very rarely get migraines outside of pregnancy (maybe one strong one every couple years) and now I've had three in the last week and a half! I went to my OB and she took my temp, blood pressure, sugar, etc, to rule out any issues and everything came back fine. She told me that women who have migraines outside of pregnancy often see the number of them increase during pregnancy. She also told me that they may go back to being bad only once every couple years, or I could keep getting them more often. I'm hoping they go away after this LO is born. Thankfully, Tylenol does help a bit with the throbbing pain part of it, but sadly does nothing for the pain from the light/sound sensitivity.

I had migraines weekly for about 6 weeks, they would last three days at a time usually. I'm so sorry you are suffering with one! If you think work can manage without you, take the time off as your doctor suggested. That was the only thing that helped me, resting in bed in the dark. Screens and fluorescent lights always made them a lot worse. Tylenol would sort of take the edge off, but I would only take it at night. At one point my doctor offered me some sort of narcotic, but I wouldn't take anything that strong (pregnant or no).

If it gives you any hope, I haven't had one in about two weeks. I think for me it was kind of a phase, and now my body seems to be managing a lot better. I hope yours goes away!

Hope you're feeling better. I too have found caffeine is helping a little. I was getting headaches daily with a few migraines here and there, I am now 24 weeks and the last 2 weeks, the headaches seem to be almost gone... so hopefully it passes for you too.

My doc said the same thing as one of the pp, that as soon as I feel the headache starting, take tylenol, some caffeine, and try and stop it from progressing. I also have found having some gatoraide has really helped, I have been making sure that I am super hydrated, but I wonder with the heat if water just isn't enough. I also check my bp regularily but it's been fine.
