I was wondering if this can happen?

I posted about something in the GS, but I've been really stressed out recently. I've started losing my milk, getting migranes and dizzy spells. I've not been BFing, but expressing to try and get my milk back.

I'm just so knackered and stressed, could this cause me to lose my milk? :(

I'm not sure, but there is every chance it could affect your supply. I won't ask what you're stressed about but is there anyone you can chat to about it or any relaxation techniques you can try? :hugs:

hey hun, was wondering this morning how you are xxx

yea stress can cause you to lose your milk, i'd give it a shot with niamh at your boob again, it was about the age she's at now that i stopped being able to express as much anyway with my supply regulating. even if you just put her to your boob and she doesnt feed, you know like when you're relactating and they say put them to your boob every so often.

hope it comes back hun xxxx

yes it can affect it, when i first found out my mum had cancer i was very stressed and my supply took a dive, i have since tried to chill and things are ok again.

I know it is hard but you must try and relax, if not then sleep as much as you can and make sure you eat and drink plenty.

:hugs:

Even momentary everyday stresses can affect mine a little. Having big stress though is bad enough, but then you also start stressing about stressing and stressing about your milk and thats gotta be a triple whammy for your supply. :( :hugs:

i aint stressed but have headaches, dizzy spells all the time and leaking. I am on iron for weeks before anyone says its anemia. :( I dont know what it is.

Yes, stress def does reduce supply. But so does expressing only, it really doesn't do as good a job as baby does xx

You worked so hard to get Niahm bfing... I hope you continue.

Migraines and headaches usually indicate not enough nutrition (on top of stress causes), I know you've mentioned going to the gym etc to get your fitness up... but you need to make sure you eat enough and drink enough. And you need to make sure your relaxing and getting adequate sleep.

Not sure what to suggest, I know your going through alot... Like the others have said look into some relaxation techniques.

Maybe all my nutrients go out through the milk for I am tired all the time and have headaches. Plus I eat like a horse to :( I want to take my vits but was told not when breastfeeding.

Stress will affect your supply. You could try eating more of the things that are good for milk production. Like porridge or things with oats - I have a recipe for flapjacks that is supposed to help.

Apparently anemia affects supply too..... Could it be that?

How are things now? Hope ur ok xx

You can take the multi vit pregnacare hun, plus they do one with omega oils in especially for bf'ing, but you can take either!

I was anemic in preg, but I stopped taking the iron tablets they gave me after my levels went back up a bit and just carried on with the multi vits and I've been fine, however I ran out one week and couldnt get any till the following week and I started with the tiredness and headaches, but now I have some I'm fine again now..
