Mincemeat

Who makes there own mincemeat? We are making ours this weekend, we use Delias recipes and she bakes it in the oven before storing it, it smells so christmassy.

Ooh do you have a recipe handy? Also how long can it be stored for?

Me and my mum are doing a trial of some mince pies this weekend so it'd be good to make some mincemeat to save for the proper ones

Heres the link. You can store it for 12 months. We do this recipe every year.

Ooh brilliant thanks! We're trying an 'alternative' mince pie. I don't like normal ones so we're doing some with puff pastry.

If you don't like shortcrust pastry then look at this recipe of Jamie Olivers, they are really tasty and a bit different from your usual mince pie, I definatley recommend them.
