Ok so I'm confused which one to get for LO, first of all he loves scooters but is only 17 months so too young for it but I've seen the mini micro 3 in 1 which has a seat and is from 1- 7 years.

I've seen the smart trikes and the little tikes version but would like to know the difference of these

Also what age are they able to use scooter alone? I'm thinking 2 years +? x

Paige got a scooter for Xmas so was 23months and she had been able to ride her cousins (2 wheeled) scooter for a month or so before that... all be it rather slowly. She instantly started flying round on hers and these days it sits in her room and she likes to try and jump it/ spin it.... not very successfully as she got a huge bruise on her bum the other day!

She got a smart trike for her 1stbirhday and we still use it with the parent handle as an alternative to buggy if we are going to the park etc. She cant reach the pedals properly to do it herself (although i doubt she would have a clue anyway!) But its definitely great for going short walksetc. I will say though, its pretty heavy for a trike and i think toddlers would struggle to pedal themselves

We have the little tikes trike and find it really hard to steer, I wouldn't recommend it! Xander got a scooter for Xmas and is doing pretty well on it now. Most kids manage it earlier but he has inherited my lack of coordination

I would go for the Micro Scooter, they're fab! We got dd hers for xmas (with matching neon pink helmet!) when she was 2yrs 7mths, she got the hang of it pretty quickly. We didn't bother getting the seat to fit onto it, but I think they are a great idea and if dd was younger we would have got one. They are very light and easy to manouvere and with the optional seat they are a toy that will last a long time x

I'd go with the micro scooter. The seat is great for the younger ones.

We've just bought another.

we did a scuttlebug from age 1 then a mini micro scooter from age 2.5. she'd have been fine on the scooter earlier tbh though.

personally hate trikes just seem to be a gimic and takes loads of space.

I'm leaning more towards the scooter, I can imagine the trikes being heavy for some reason?

We have a smart tryke. It's ok, LO really enjoys it as a change from his pram, and loves 'steering' it. It's not heavy but is a bit of a pain to steer. I've not seen the scooters, will have to have a look, but at nursery where I work, they seem to start having a try with the scooters about 18+ month and really get the hang of them 2+ years.

We recently bought this one for our 17 month old daughter. We were at the park with friends who'se little boy is about 6 months older than Eva, and she absolutely adored his. If I hadn't seen her on his I would probably have assumed it was way too big for her, but it has a good strap to hold her safely on the seat, and it felt a lot more sturdy than the smart trikes etc - like it would last her a lot better and at a really good price. Might be worth a look?

We actually went for the red one, which is supposed to be the boys version but looks kinda unisex to me, as we don't know the sex of this new baby and want it to be suitable for both.
