Hello all,

I'm new here but I had to get some advice so I joined the sight and here's my story. Help/opinions please!

So I miscarried at the very end of January at 7.5 weeks. Bled heavily for nearly two weeks. Then, on time (when it should have been if I hadn't miscarried), bleed lightly/spotted for 3 days (Feb28th-Mar2nd). I thought, wow that was weird because it never turned into a full bleed. I never spot. My periods are always 4 days of heavy flow. Nothing before and nothing afterward. So I chalked it up to the MC.
Then randomly had brown spotting, sometimes very light but a few times heavy enough to use a pantyliner, on and off, for 7 days from 18-25Mar. Some of the spotting was only on the tissue and only after sex (which also never happens to me). That is right in the middle of the cycle! OK..... So i'm thinking still a very strange period (but not at all heavy enough for a period BUT too much blood to be pregnant again right?!). If I was back to normal I would expect to have started AF around the 28Mar. Well, nothing. Since the weird spotting, have been so so so tired and my poor tummy is so angry. Continually going between nauseous and hungry (sometimes both at the same time). Have been waiting to be sick, but the cold/flu/whateverthisis hasn't come. POAS BFN on 1Apr. I expected that because my cycle is all crazy and I'm just waiting for it to even out. But also thinking that it is taking a long time to even out, right?

Now this morning I took a blue dye test and got a faint positive! WHA?? WHAT IS HAPPENING?! Help help! Has anyone got any advice for me?? Anyone have any similar experience? I have no idea if or when I ovulated, I have no idea what date I should use for LMP, and... just... WHAT?! :help: Also, I read right before I posted this about women getting false positives from blue dye tests. I know it wasn't evap. I am going to get a FRER immediately after work and taking it first thing tomorrow morning. But seriously, WHAT?!

And we are not trying to conceive but we are also not not trying (yea double negative hehe). Since I just had the miscarriage and he took it hardly, I don't want to talk to him about it just yet. He wants a baby much more than I do. I just need someone to talk to I guess.

I'm sorry for your loss x

I've had 3 mc's and it can take quite a while for your body to get back to normal and for hcg to leave your system. Sometimes it's 2 weeks but my body has always been slower....like 6/8weeks. This last time I had a few retained bits of pregnancy tissue, nothing major and they passed 6 weeks after my initial mc bleed with a big bleed. Then 4 weeks later I had a period but still showed a faint BFP on a very sensitive test. So that's like 10weeks later, plus it took another couple of weeks to go completely but we are talking squinter a on frer or 10miu cheapies.

Did you have a scan to show everything was clear? Maybe you should phone your early preg unit and get them to check you out....could be old or new? Hope everything works out ok for you.

I think it could be

1) hormones lest from your MC. It would be quite a long time for that but it is possible you have retained tissue. Retained tissue could also explain spotting. The fact that you had a BFN since the MC should rule this out but it is possible the test you took was not very sensitive?

2) A new pregnancy. Spotting in pregnancy isn't too unusual and doesn't always mean there is something wrong with the baby. It could be an irritated cervix or even implantation bleeding.

3) The faint line was not a positive and your body is just taking a while to sort itself out after the MC. If the line showed within the time and is relatively easy to see it would be unusual for it not to be a BFP. If you have to hold it up to the light and peer at it one inch from your nose it doesn't count as if you look hard enough at any test you will pick out some sort of a line. It is tricky when you are not quite sure if the line is obvious enough or not.

I think the only way to be sure will to test again. Look forward to your update with the FRER. Hoping for the best for you. Either way because of the spotting it might be a good idea to get checked out.

Yes I had a scan around 15 February after the bleeding stopped and everything was done and over with. I will call the doctor and see about getting in with her. This is just too weird.

UGH! My post didn't show up! I guess luckily for y'all. Here's the short version:
I went and got two more packs. One cheapie, one FRER. Took one of each this morning. FRER was negative. Cheapie positive. I was so frustrated I threw them both away in the big can outside even! ha! Anyways I should have taken pictures. I will call the doctor because I probably should. With my insurance though, I'll need a referral from my primary again (last one was cancelled after the scan in February showed I wasn't preggo anymore). It may take a while to get in. And no, they never rush things like this through. If you're not actively dying, it isn't high enough priority :( I'm going to wait a few days to test again. Hopefully I can hold out until Sunday. Even the cheap tests aren't actually that cheap lol. My poor wallet.

I really really appreciate everyone's responses.

But secretly I have kept the first test that showed positive yesterday. I cant stop looking at it. I really hope it's not a false. This year has already been a little rough with us after having the first miscarriage. We have been trying unsuccessfully for so long. We haven't used any extra medical help. After this year, if we cannot get pregnant or keep a pregnancy, we will seriously begin looking into fertility help options.

I really hope it's a new BFP for you! Weird that the frer was negative but then again after all I've had recently I feel that anything is possible! It's really horrible when things aren't clear and your body is messing you around. Keep us updated and I hope you get an appointment soon. I'm sorry for everything you have been through :hugs:

BabyBrain - Thank you! Being on this site helps a lot. Wish I had done it sooner. You ladies are great! I see you put your fur baby in your signature LOL SO CUTE!

Had a blood test today, BFP!!! I am pregnant! Ah! Scheduled for a scan on Tuesday next week to try to estimate how far along because frankly I have absolutely no idea. Just wanted to follow up. Miscarriage. Bleeding/spotting. Random crap. BFP. So.... it's possible. I'm here to report it's possible. I'm praying like crazy for a sticky bean. I've officially started having morning sickness (had it really bad with DD) so I'm assuming I'm probably coming right into week 6. FX'd for healthy and happy.

Congratulations! That's amazing! I had awful morning sickness in my pregnancies but found that it hit at a different time with each pregnancy.

Awesome news!! I had been thinking about you too! I hope everything goes smoothly and wish you all the best for a sticky bean xx

Yay! Wishing you a happy and healthy 9 months :dust:
