At 8 months how much does it matter if LO misses a meal? My LO has 4 bottle a day between 3 and 6 oz depending in how hungry he is. We just went to baby club and it totally clashed with lunch, nap times and we left early. In hindsight I shouldn't have gone (its at a very stupid time for babies IMO!!) He had some bottle at the group but was really tired and grumpy and I didn't feel like he would last to stay up for lunch or if he id he would have a rubbish nap after. Instead I gave him more milk in his room so he's. had a good 8oz which is a lot for him. This means he won't really have lunch, I'll give him a snack when he wakes but does it really matter. I've. basically substituted milk for food on this occasion.

Not sure what I'm asking!

I think I get it - occasionally LO just gets a nurse instead of solids for a meal cuz of our schedule. Sometimes I take food with us, but only if it's gonna be feasible.

Skipping occasionally won't mess them up and ruin what they're used to, if that's what you're asking :)

Yes! Thank you for being my translator.

I like the saying "food for fun until they're one"

Their main dietary needs come from their milk... the rest is just a bonus for now, but it is still important so that they have enough intake once they are a bit bigger and taking less milk.

It will be totally fine to miss te meal and replacewith milk...after all they say 'food is fun Till they are one'. You might find Lo is hungrier at his next meal.

We are still only at 2 meals a day but sometimes he's just too tired or I'm too lazy and we'll skip breakfast lol doesn't happen too often but he doesn't eat a lot of breakfast anyways. He still has milk as his main source of food, so it won't matter if you miss a meal.. He's still getting prob more calories and fat from the milk :)

I hate when baby groups are at weird times

Its 11-12.30. That's prime lunch and down for his nap time. If I could guarantee he'd sleep in his stroller on te way home and then stay asleep it wouldn't be so bad!

With my first I missed out solid meals with my LO every weekend when we went out for dinner right up til she was around 9 months old, she happily took a milk feed instead. It was just for convenience as we would be out for a curry or something like that and I wouldnt give her any of that:flower:
