Mittelschmerz & ovarian cysts

I'm not really looking for an answer to this. Just wondering if anyone else has been in this situation. I have mittelschmerz just about every month. For those of you not familiar with that, it's the pain you feel in your ovary when the follicle ruptures & releases the egg. I'm trying to see if my reasoning is right on this because I haven't found anything online yet. Last month I didn't hurt when I ovulated, so I'm guessing I didn't release the egg, but I did have pain in my right ovary later in the month. Ovarian cysts can form in two ways. First, the follicle ruptures, releases the egg, then reseals itself & begins to fill with fluid. Second, the follicle doesn't rupture & then fills with fluid. I'm guessing that the egg was released this month because I had pain in my right ovary on the day I ovulated. Here's the thing: I've been hurting every day since then. I'm sure I have a cyst now, & I'm wondering if that would affect my chances of being pregnant this month. My doctor says that regular ovarian cysts don't affect fertility, but I don't really have anyway of knowing if the egg was released or not. I'm still optimistic though.
