I have some debt I really need to clear but I work part time and my in-comings just about cover my outgoings. I have signed up to some of these survey sites but you can't make a lot of money from them. I don't really have any talents, like baking or crafts. I am at home with my 18 months old on Mondays and Tuesdays and my husband is home with us at the weekends. I could also do something in the evening if it is minimal.

Does anyone do anything to make a little extra cash?

As the previous poster said, ebay is a good source of a little extra cash if you have things you want to sell. That, or if you have a lot to sell and you think you can make a profit from everything you have to sell (you do have to pay a small amount for this so you'd need to have a considerable amount to sell) you could sell stuff at a car boot sale? (If you don't have a car like I don't, ask someone with a car for a favour - I used my dad's car).

I am going to start making wedding favours soon, and it is relatively cheap and easy. I buy wholesale favour bags on ebay and fill them with sweets, mints, almonds, (bought) tablet cut into pieces, shortbread pieces, etc (you can use almost anything), then tie the top with a ribbon, whatever colour matches the customer's wedding colour scheme. I am going to start an ebay page which is free, and you can also get a web page on vista print for £3 month. I also plan to visit local wedding fairs to advertise myself. Vistaprint also do cheap flyers. All that admittedly does have a small outlay (no more than approx £20 for the advertising (flyers and website) per 2 or 3 months, and £25 for the goods which could last for more than one job). I know you are skint, but when you think if you got even just 1 customer for a wedding of say, 60 guests at £3.99 per head, that is £239, with just under £200 profit for the one job. In the summer time, you could get lots of business too so you could bring in a considerable amount.

That was just an idea, as it is something I plan to do very soon. Other ideas could be mobile spray tanning (you can do a course for £60 but after 2 customers that is paid back and all clients after that is your own), or one of these commission-based jobs like Avon.

I understand how difficult it is as when I go back to work it will be part time and I know I will be struggling, hence why I came up with the wedding favours idea. I am lucky enough to have done evening courses in massage (body massage, and indian head massage) before I had my baby so I plan to use that for a mobile business in evenings and weekends too. That could be an idea for you, but the courses are quite expensive. Though, after a few clients, it is paid back and with massage, you will get clients easily.

Late this year i started with a home selling type company. Its not like most where there are targets to meet and loads of ways to sell. There is a small start up fee, but you get a business kit to start you off. If you want anymore info pm me. You can do as little or as much as you want to fits in with everything else you have going on. X

My little sister has started her own buisness and is doing amazing! She's only 17 she customises converse trainers with diamonds and ribbon they look brilliant!
