You know how the teats go discoloured when they've been steam sterilised twice a day for months - do they need to be replaced or are they ok?

Also, I am not sure whether to get a faster flowing teat for Adam - up till a week or so age he was still breastfeeding, but he won't stay latched on now, just sucks for a minute or so and then pulls off and cries, so I am expressing what I can get and so he's basically fully bottlefed. He's been on the first Closer to Nature teats, slow flow, and has been ok, but lately he's sometimes been very fussy, pulling off and whipping his head round a lot, and taking ages to finish a bottle, if he finishes it at all.

Is there any benefit from keeping him on the slow-flow teats, or should I try a faster one? What are the variable flow ones like?

Thanks for any suggestions. :)

i would try a faster one if he is getting frustrated, if it is too fast for him he will let you know ( coughing and spluttering etc..) and if he seems ok with it then its fine :)
the discolouration itself is no cause for concern ( you mean they look a little cloudy , right?) but i think they recommend changing every 3 months or so anyway

We moved straight from slow flow to vari-flow teats and still use them (vari-flow not the same teats lol)
We did try med-flow but AJ got on better with vari-flow.(bought a pack of each to try)

The discolouration is normal, just renew them regularly and when damaged.

thank you. :) think I'll buy some variflow teats and give them a go.
