Moses Basket vs Crib

Which did you choose and why? How long did your moses basket/crib last?

Does anyone have this Little Burlington moses basket from Next?
https://www.next.co.uk/shopping/homeware/childrensbedroom/62/6
It appears from the descriptions that the stand is not actually big enough for the accompanying basket :dohh:

Thanks

we chose a moses basket because it was easier to move around, and i just loved them, and it all coordinated with her nursery, although its in our room. maddi is still in her moses basket and will be till 6months - when we're going to put her in her big cot in the nursery :) x

We had both, the crib Jasmine wouldn't go in, no idea why so we used the moses basket in the end, and she was in that until about 4-5months

We had both, moses downstairs crib up, she still sleeps in her crib now, (almost 5 mths) the moses basket wasn't sturdy enough after about 3 1/2 and she was only 9lbs, it was a mothercare 1, she just didn't settle in it from then.

I asked this question as i live in a 3 storey house. Nursery top floor, master bedroom middle floor and kitchen bottom floor.

In the end me and Oh thought it would be cheaper and a better idea to use a moses basket to carry around the house and at night put the moses basket in his/hers cotbed which will be in our room temperaly to get baby used to it.

Iv also heard babies feel safer in moses baskets.

Hi, I saw your thread. We have just been planning to get a moses basket for rooming in, we already have a cot for the nursery. So we're really only looking at something that will be used for six months or so. But MIL, who loves to "help" with "advice" thinks we'd be better off with a crib as bubs will outgrow a moses basket more quickly.

I'm just wanting to confirm my own thoughts on it really, that cribs don't last any longer than moses baskets anyway

Ah lol! xxx

We had 2 moses baskets one was dinky tiny compared to one we got just like that actually (think eggburt) ...idea was 1 up 1 down but the 1 up ended up getting put away fairly quickly whist basket 2 got LOADS of use until she was 5 months old :D Pain in ass taking up and down though!

This time ...
Upstairs crib
Downstairs moses basket 2
...Moses basket 1 has been kept for the girls dolls when they are older lol!

M&P gliding crib upstairs. Mine was a big baby so wouldn't have fitted in a moses basket very long anyway but that is something you can't predict!

My baby could sleep in his pram downstairs then later in his bouncer, depends what type of pram you get- ones like an old fashioned pram are suitable and you can put a matress in them to make more comfy but ones like a lie-flat buggy or a clip on car seat you shouldn't really puta baby down to sleep in.
