I was feeling so much better the last week and a half, but two days ago started vomiting again despite Zofran. I called the mw and now have an appointment next Weds, but was wondering what they did for any of you ladies if this has happened to you?

sorry i cant help i never have taken tablets for MS even when its been really bad caus ive always managed to keep food down

I wish I could manage that, I was trying to take nothing because I'm uncomfortable taking anything that could possibly hurt LO. But I know if I'm not keeping anything down, it's better to take something in order to be getting the nutrients. I'm hoping this will be over in a couple weeks so that I can go back to just eating frequently to keep it at bay like I could until 6 weeks.

Ask your doc for Phenogran. (i think that's how you spell it) It is an anti-neausea medicine which is safe for baby. It may help. My doc offered me both but I went with Phenogran.

Thank you! I've seen that on a few sites when I was searching, just hadn't seen many women who had used it so I was not sure about it's effectiveness/ safety.

I was prescribed Zofran and it has also stopped working for me!!! I told my DR and she could say was that she understands. Your body becomes used to the medicine therefore it will stop working.

The Phenergan is an anti-nausea medication, not an anti-vomiting. Zofran is an anti-vomiting medication and not an anti-nausea. But everyone is different with Medications.

I took the Zofran and it stopping me from throwing up, but I still had nausea. I havn't tried Phenergan yet, I am 10 weeks now, so i'm trying to wait it out to see how much longer I have left of this!!

Hope this information helps!!

That makes sense, as I can handle the nausea, it's just the vomiting that concerned me, so maybe the other is not worth trying. I figured my body had just gotten used to it, as it was a kind of gradual thing, nausea was worse, then constant, then vomiting started again, and got worse again. I asked the mw if it was okay to take more often and she said it was okay because I'm only on 4 mg, so I will just keep taking it more often and eat whatever will stay down. I hope it calms down for you soon too! It makes it much easier when I remember that it is a sign that LO is healthy. I would probably worry more if I wasn't sick at all!

I don't think it could hurt to TRY the Phenogran. Its not a very expensive drug (if you are in the US and have to pay for prescriptions). I would give it a shot.

Zofran worked great for me, but I couldn't handle the constipation side effect, so I got my Dr. to switch me to Phenergan, but that does nothing for me except make me feel loopy in addition to feeling nauseous. :P Oh well...

Yea I was prescribed 4MG also, I have continued to take it at certain times hoping that it will help me. If it doesnt, i feel like I am not out anything! I usually take it before I leave to go to work and before i leave to go home!

I have always had problems with Motion Sickness, so with the Morning Sickness added, I get sick anytime i move faster than a turtle and pretty much EVERYTIME im in the car!

I have tried several different things that people have suggested; nothing is really working as well as the Zofran did!

I'll definitely try it if the doctor thinks it's a good idea and safe, after all it hopefully will only be a couple weeks. Does it help with vomiting?

wow, Ive heard a few women say this now about zofran stopping being effective!

Ive been on it for a week- 8 days i think actually, and so far its working ok...

you can actually take up to 32 mg a day, im ono 24 mg a day at the moment, also can be taken with phenogan, theres lots of other medications available though....

Im thinking about trying accupuncture, Ive heard really good things about it, and Im on a hyperemesis support forum and it was very highly recommended...

I was on Zofran for about a month before i felt that it stopped working! So it worked great for awhile, but about a month into taking it, i felt that it has stopped!! I was prescribed 4MG a day and could take every 6 hours, I was really only taking it 2 maybe 3 times a day!

The constipation side effect was awful!! Especially when constipation is a symptom of pregnancy also!! So it was a doubly whammy for me!! Still dealing with that one!! sorry TMI!
