How can you tell the difference of losing a little bit of plug at a time vs jylust have an incress discharge

My discharge is usually kind of thinner and white. Today I lost my plug, it was pink and was all snot like and thick.

With my first I lost my plug it was large snotty and had blood in it. This time I have had pieces of clear snot but no blood and not as much which I think is my plug????? I had to go to hospital last Sunday for light bleeding and I described it to them as it had happened earlier that day and age wrote in my notes it was a show. It's all so confusing though isn't it! I'm also hoping for vbac x
