Hi! My wife and I are TTC. We did IUI last Wednesday because we got our first positive OPK on Tuesday at 6 p.m. (wondfo and clear blue).

We were pretty confident due to the positive and my cervix was high wet and open.

Since then I have had positive opks every day and they are VERY positive ok wondfo.. potentially darker than they were before..

I know they tell you to stop testing after your first positive but my doctor advised a full month of strips would be good for tracking so I kept testing...

Now we are worried I either did not ovulate at all, or something is wrong causing the long strong LH surge..

Has this happened to anyone else? Any advice?

(Please note the IUI was unmedicated)

I don’t have an answer, but I had a couple months where i’d get flashing smiles for days or days of positive opks when usually I only have positive for max two/2.5days. Looking back at my charts from those months, O was very questionable for one or two cycles but the other four times it happened I had anovulatory cycles. I didn’t fall those months. It’s hard to say what is going on, but usually it’s a sign that your body is gearing up and not ovulating for whatever reason. It could keep trying until it does or it could just throw in the towel. Without temping or a blood test there’s no way to know. I’m sorry :(

When you had the prolonged surges, did you seem to ovulate early on or later in the surge?

I’ve been researching so many things and seeing basically what you’re telling me, and then the other half of women end up pregnant... my guess is that they did not go through IUI though and are able to BD every day or so of a positive.. my cervix is low and almost completely closed now though.. still getting positives. I guess it’s just a waiting game. I will update once I know for anyone who reads this with the same issues!

I would typically ovulate the evening on the second day of positives.

I’ll attach my charts from my prolonged surges. Some do have crosshairs from me putting them in or changing the mode, but yeah iffy. I had really weird charts overall after my loss of my twins. My body did not handle that well. But for the long surges usually looked like day before it ended. I have threads and pics somewhere but I need to nap lol
