I was bringing my kids to swimming lessons today and there was a lady in her 60's beside me in a vehicle with a straw hat on, windows down and blaring opera. I thought it rather funny.

However, do you remember being younger and the music your grandparents listened to? For some reason, at an early age, I thought that's the music that older people listened to and I thought my tastes would slowly change, even by my age now.

But it looks like I may still like the good old rock and roll and dance music etc. when I am in my 60's. So imagine what that will look like to the younger generation.

Picture a lady in her 60's with the windows down blaring out AC/DC - You Shook Me All Night Long. Imagine the looks?!

I have to admit my taste in music has changed !!! But then I was one of the so called *ravers* !!!!! lol Glow sticks, music with no words, pointing fingers and other things I would rather not talk about !!! lol

I now find myself saying to Dan things like
"Turn that racket down"
" is there words at any time, or just thump, thump, thump "
"Does he have to say those words"

OMG I AM TURNING INTO MY MOTHER !!!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

I think i'll be in my 60s blaring drum n bass and jungle

in saying that, I love classical music too, modern classical and film scores etc so I blare that out of my car even now lol :D

Lol. My taste in music is very here and there lol. I like all different music! I dont think its changed much

Yeah mine has just grown. I still like all the things I ever did (yes even NKOTB though I don't actively listen to them!) and just add new things as and when I discover them. I don't like really expand the genres that appeal to me and I perhaps have phases about my favourite bands. I do have a lot of genres I like though, jazz, lounge, classical, brass band, rock, metal, indie, britpop, '80s pop/electropop, '80s goth, punkrock etc etc. When I was in my late teens I was just so much about REM it was unreal. I still think they are amazing but I don't often listen to them now. I've been plugging Pearl Jam for 10 years now and Pulp for 15, they never go out of fashion!

i dont like music in general. especially one with no bloody words.

I prefer music without words :)

I don't think I've ever known someone who doesn't like music. Think you're the first!

I hate house & jungle music!

I love soul, motown, rnb, jazz.....I love Smooth FM :haha:

But also listen to pop & indie :D

I don't think my music taste has changed, I've always liked quite old music. X

I always listen to Pennywise, Bad Religion, Antiflag, Danzig, Misfits, Rise Against in the car with Helena

Also Akon, Drake, Lady Gaga, bad bad rap music, whatever I want, and people always look at me weird now that I have a kid.

I find that my musical tastes have stayed the same for the past 15 years.

I was thinking this the other day Leanne,

As far as musical tast goes, up until about 4/5 years ago i thought that anything other than Garage and R&B was horrid and i would flatly refuse to listen to it, but now ive grown to like most things.

I think for a person of my age, my musical library is pretty good, though my main genres are R&B and Hip Hop

Haha I don't think my music tastes will ever change, the only band I cringe about is one really bad one called 'aiden' seriously look them up if your after a laugh!! I was like 14 tho and a terrible emo kid not in the 'i h8 my lyf omgz' way just loved the music... I still do  :haha: I like every kind of music, especially ska and metal! My friends find it hilarious a few years ago I went to see slayer and got a black eye in the pit, two weeks later I went to see the specials haha worlds apart but I love them both!!!

Mine has changed slightly.

I was firstly into dance, then went into metal/rock&roll hardcore style for about 4/5years.
Now im inbetween them both.

My taste has stayed pretty much the same. Since I was about 13 I've always liked rock, punk and ska bands. I also enjoy some classical, pop, jazz. I think I had broader taste when I was in my early 20s but I'm a bit more stuck in my ways now. A lot of the stuff I listen to is from when I was a teenager - Wildhearts, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Smashing Pumpkins, etc.

PeanutBean, do you play in a brass band or just like listening to them?

Kiddo I don't play any brass, well I did play sax, but not real brass. I just have a thing for horns! Lol

I listen to pretty much everything except typical country music - used to like it more as a kid, cant' stand it now :haha:
Grew up listening to Led Zeppelin, Rolling Stones, The Beatles, Bon Jovi, AC/DC, GnR, Deep Purple, etc. but I also love Jazz, Punk, Ska, Reggae & classical music ;)

This is me  I listen to anything and everything I want to. Got some funny looks this afternoon parking up in Morrisons (Supermarket) listening to Rise Against pretty loud with the windows open..

My music taste hasn't changed... I don't think it ever will.

Ahahaha Shocker, I met Aiden... :p Back in the ol emo days eh. What was I thinking!!:dohh:

Anyway! I think i'm getting more and more open minded with my music tastes. I always have been but now I even like SOME jazz music!
Im very much into my metal music, punk, rock, indie etc but I also love musical theatre, pop, rnb, drum and base, jazz, some dance... not that much I dislike.

I used to listen to light rock and rnb(weird combo)lol...now i hate rock and prefer garage, drum n bass and rnb
