I had an antenatal class on Sunday and asked the MW there the position of the baby - she had a feel and then got a second opinion and they both agreed baby was head-down

I then had a hospital appointment on Monday with a specialist - turns out it was a junior doctor I seen with a student - they both had a feel and decided baby was head down and 3/5 engaged (although they confused each other on if it was 2/5 or 3/5..) - they said baby's head was down now and wouldn't be moving

Anyway, I had an appointment with my own MW this morning and after having a good feel she asked me if baby was breech?! I said I hoped not and told them what the hospital said - she then had another feel and changed her mind and wrote the baby is 2/5 engaged in my notes

I'm just worried because all 5 of them have seemed a little uncertain - I just want one person to have a feel and know for definite where she is! Is this normal that they don't really seem to know??

I don't see the MW for 2 weeks now (and have no more appointments) so I really hope she is head down!!

Did they check for the heartbeat with the doppler? They usually pick it up off the shoulder and that helps them have a better idea of how baby is lying. When my daughter was breech, you could only get her heartbeat up above my belly button halfway to my ribs. When she was head down, it was more around my pubic hair line.

I would try not to worry though. If most of them think she's head down, she probably is.

With ds I had 2 community midwifes, 2 hospital midwifes and a consultant agree that baby was breech, they scanned me before they booked me in for ecv and baby was head down so they can be wrong but if you are worried try to get another appointment with your mw.

I do think if any of them thought there was a chance of LO being breech they would of referred you, they like to be on the cautious side

she found it about an inch below my belly button

Baby was transverse for a few weeks so i hope this doesn't indicate anything like that..

Give it a few days, and book an app with your midwife again, just say your unsure if baby has flipped and you think it's breech.. No biggie, it's 5 mins of her time to put your mind at rest.. Any decent midwife wouldn't mind, x
