Ok this may seem a little silly to some but then again it might not. I found my doctors today to arrange a MW for Wednesday. After waiting half an hour to get through I then get told that my surgery is no longer doing MW appointments and will be down in the other joint surgery in the next town :growlmad:.

Ok so may not seem such a big deal but 1: there was absolutely no warning from MW/doc surgery that they were intending to do this and 2: I cant get to the next town (other half wouldn't be able to get time off to take me, buses dont run that way and I certainly cant afford taxi fares back and forth. And she only does Wednesday mornings no other choice what so ever). :dohh:

So now exactly what am I meant to do ?? I thought these last few weeks we're meant to be seeing our MW's more often??
Am I just being a little to picky over this or does it make sense to anyone else??

Rant Over lol thanks for reading :)

Sounds a bit crap to me - maybe you can call MW and ask for a home visit - doubt it will go down terribly well but at least you will be making your point which is perfectly valid!!

That really sucks! The midwives in my area have a community office at the hospital where I can contact my midwife direct - is there anyway you could contact your midwife and see if she can come to you if you can't get to her? They travel around anyway visiting new mums so perhaps she could pop in while she is in the area.

The receptionist at my doctors did say she would leave a message with my MW asking her to call me so we could sort something out, weather she'll get it or not I don't know  I'll give it til the end of tomorrow if I haven't heard from her I will give her a ring. My only worry is if she gets funny about coming out to see me! but on the other hand I wasn't the one who decided she was moving to another doc surgery :sulk:

Basically they will only have a certain area to cover, it may not be your actual midwife who comes out but one of there team (as above you can contact them via your hospital). BUT they don't mind at all - they understand why people can't or are unable to get out to them. I too feel bad having them come here (had to the other sat for bp check) but they were lovely - its there job and what they want more than anything is for you and bubs to be safe and happy.

I am sure you won't be the only on in your area with this issue.
