I want to start off by saying that every child is truly different. I was so anxious to have this lo that I asked my dr. to perform a sweep on me at 39 weeks to see if it would be as succesful as the one I had with my dd, but as it went days went by and nothing. Then finally friday I told myself that baby was going to come when ready. Well after I said this I started leaking fluid. This was strange to me because with my other 4 it never happened. So I called my dr. and she said that I should only go to the hospital if I soak thru a pad in a hr. I waited and then 30 minutes later a big gush came out and off to the hospital it was. When I arrived they waited to see if I was having contractions and I wasn't so they hooked me up to pitocin that night to get things going. Well next morning still no contractions. So the dr. decided she wanted to put me on Cytotec. And that started giving me really strong contractions so they stopped it and then put me back on pitocin which finally worked.
Well by then I was exhausted and real pain and wanted an epi but was denied because my blood platelets were too low. So I had no pain medication. I came into the hospital at 3 cm and then the next morning I was only 4cm. My dr. came and checked me at 7am sunday morning and I was 6cm. Then next 4 hours were torcher with the contractions and at 11:10 am the dr. checked and I was 9 3/4 dialated. So she told me to start pushing. And 4 minutes later out came Caedon at 7lbs. 6oz and 20.5 inches long. This was the most painful birth out of all my kids, but the result was my precious little boy. Sorry this is so long I will update with pics this weekend.
