My baby is positioned back to back (OP)

Yeah I'll get the link from my history, probably can't get on all fours in the pool but you can certainly be on your knees leaning forward holding on to the side - v comfy. Xx

And if you google "Hermann Ponette breech birth" as most of the other info on safety of breech water birth refer to him.

Very interesting, thanks! :flower: I've heard to keep your hands off a breech baby being born, but I didn't know why, so this explains it. It's good to know that waterbirth is a safe option for frank breech births.

I'm hoping that baby will just turn but I wanted to be forearmed with information as my consultant seems to have a knack of getting all serious and scaring me in the appointments or telling me what we will be doing rather than the informed decisions I usually make.

Both of my LO's were back to back. My first came out back to back and my second turned sideways as she came out. Obviously I don't have anything to compare it to, but for me back to back labour really wasn't that bad. My first was an enjoyable experience, I was ready to do it again once I'd delivered the placenta :haha:. My 2nd was good too, although when she turned sideways it was really painful, but still plenty manageable. My MW told me that due to the position of my uterus I'm likely to have back to back babies but I'm not worried about it.There are things you can do to try to turn LO; I was recommended to spend time kneeling on a chair with my hands on the floor (like a sort of chair assisted downward facing dog), to walk with one foot on the pavement and one on the road (awkward :haha:) and to swim on my front at the pool. No one tried to turn either of my LO's during labour, I don't know if that is generally done. My labours were fairly quick, 6 hours (1st) and 9 hours (2nd), obviously they may have been quicker if my LO's weren't back to back but they were pretty good lengths- not too long, not too short :).
