so after being 2 weeks overdue, i was sent in to be induced on the 13th of october, i got to the hospital and was given the pessary at around 2pm which was kept in for 24 hours. the pessary actually made me so ill, i was vomiting, i couldnt urinate and it gave me awful contractions. the next day the pessary was taken out and i was examined and was 2-3cm dilated, they then schedualed for me to go up to L&D the next morning to have my waters broken, so i woke up bright and early, didnt get seen at L&D till about 2:30 where my waters were broken. I was left for an hour or 2 to walk round and try and dilate a bit more, after that i hadnt progressed but contractions were strong so i was given a hormone drip to help dilate. My contractions started to get really regular and strong, i was on gas and air but opted for an epidural. i was then examined again late in the evening where i was 8cm, from here i only progressed to 9cm by 7am the next morning, overall i was in active labour for 14 hours. During my labour babies heartbeat decreased dramatically and all the doctors came running in ect, and had to do the blood test on babys head, he was fine, but by 7am i hadnt progressed any further, i was then sent for an emergency C-section, as i went into theatre i was still having full blown contractions while they were setting up. I was given an epidural and a spinal block. my baby boy was born at 09:17 on Tuesday October 16th, once he was out, the spinal block wore off, and i could feel everything, i had to go under general and i cant remember anything after that, i remember seeing my baby at about 3oclock that afternoon and i woke up around 4:30 but still dont remember much, during the section i lost 2 litres of blood and had to have a transfusion, my oxygen levels dropped and i was on oxygen for 2 days after, i was kept in hospital for a week and only arrived home yesterday, but my boy is here and id do it all again for him
