Hello ladies! Thanks for being such great support on here the last few months! I am proud to announce the birth of our daughter Leah born June 25 via c section.
I started losing my plug on Saturday in a large bit then little bits over the next few days. Monday was my due date. I was sad because I had only been a fingertip dilated the Thursday before. I felt like nothing was happening. Fast forward to 430 am and there was my bloody show and period cramps. Was able to go back to sleep but woke up at 8 ish with real contractions.
I spent the whole day having contractions approx 5 minutes apart all day, but not getting regular enough to call the doctor. At 7 pm after dinner baby stopped moving. I freaked out. Called the doc who had me come in for monitoring.
When we got to the hospital baby of course starts dancing like a maniac. The nurses and a resident were like, we will see you in probably a few hours or so or tomorrow. But then they did a vaginal exam and I was already 4 to 5 cm! So they were like, actually you are going to stay. Do you want an epidural so we can break a your water?
Within an hour I was admitted with an epidural and pitocin, but they didn't break my water after all. That happened in the middle of the night she a nurse examined me. Waited all night to progress. The next morning still barely a progressed so they upped pitocin again.
By 930 or 10 am it didn't look like baby would come out vaginally. I had only progressed to 7 cm. so the doctor recommended a c section. At that point I hadn't slept in so long I just wanted my girl out!
So at 11 am Leah was born. Her first cry was amazing.
Our first 48 hours in the hospital were tough. I was so tired and sleep deprived. But after that we settled in.
I am so in love with her. You all have so much joy to look forward to.
Xo
