My DnC yesterday....

Well I went in for my DnC yesterday. I have to be there at 6:45 am and my surgery was done at 7:30. The doctor was great and so was everyone there! They made me feel very comfortable and were very accomadating to me and my husband. I was in recovery and they called my hubby back we stayed for about 30 minutes and then we were allowed to leave and I was back home in my bed by 9:30! It wasn't bad at all.
The doctor called me about 2:30 and he told me that everything looked great. My uterus looked really good and he sent a little piece of my uterus for biopsy (I think is normal procedure) He told me that he didn't think anything was going to come of it as everything looked great. He said he did not see any scaring for my 3 miscarriages and he went ahead and cleaned me out and he said that if there was anything (ie: endometrial scarring) that would take care of it. He said he wanted me to resume mt TTC as soon as I stopped bleeding.
Now I have a question. I was getting ready to start my cycle yesterday or today anyway. After the procedure, I bled a little heavy, but by the time I went to bed, it was all but gone. Now this morning it is still gone! Did he remove the lining that I would have normally shed during the menstrating process and that is all I am going to do? I am not going to start trying until the latter part of next week, but I was just curious if anyone else had experienced this?

i am sorry i don't know either ...but i am glad to hear how welll everything went and that he told you no reason to wory and you can start the ttc process...

When they do a D & C they clean all your womb by scrapping everthing out so I would say your lining will have gone with that would wait until your next AF until ttc incase the lining isnt thick enough its a long time since i had one 9 yrs ago but I remember being told not to ttc until i had my first af after although things may have changed since

I had a d&c in Sept, and my Dr. told us not to BD for six weeks because your cervix is still dilated and leaves you open to infection. But if your Dr. said it was okay, then BD when you feel comfortable. Good luck!

Thank you ladies. My doctor did tell me that we could start as soon as the bleeding stopped. But since I am not bleeding, I figure I would wait as if I was having a cycle. But this wasn't a case of a miscarriage dnc (if there is a difference) but just a lokk around and cleaning so to speak. I have a folow up with him in 4 weeks. Hoever he did say that we could start as soon as possible. Thank you again.
