First off I know it's not considered unusual for a BF baby not to poop for 10 days at a time but LO is now having bouts of extreme pain and straining which makes her inconsolable. She has always been a very easily settled and content little lady which is making this all the more distressing. Before now she was every 2-3 days between poops. She is passing quite a lot of extremely nasty smelling wind.
I called the HV yesterday morning after an awful night where she had me up 10 times and the longest single stretch of sleep was 3 hours. Previously she would do a 7-8 hour stretch to start with.

HV said it sounded to her like the poo was imminent and would be here within 24 hours. I asked how long was too long to not go and she said she'd never met a BF baby who went that long, but failed to elaborate. 36 hours later still nothing except an unhappy baby and a bank holiday weekend!
I've tried massage, warm baths, elevating her bottom, lots of tummy time, leg cycling, even lots of bottom wiping and fresh air.....nothing is working!
Can anyone offer any more ideas, advice or reassurance?
