I'll try and keep this as brief as poss.

I got an early BFP on 19th Dec & 20th Dec. At this point I would have been approx 4 weeks based on my last LMP.

I didnt expect to fall pregnant as I had been diagnosed with PCOS and started on a low dose of Met. I started getting mild cramps and sickness which is unusal normally for me hence doing the test.

On 25th Dec, I started getting severe lower back pains and the odd severe stomach pain, this was no better on 26th Dec so I brought another preg test. It was a clearblue conception indicator one. It went positive but the indicatior put me at 1-2 weeks which was would have been less than I thought I should have been. However i didnt use FMU so dismissed it.

On 27th Dec I had brown discharge with bits of red in it, was referred to hosp where they did a urine test to rule out a water infection. They told me I was passing blood and that it could just be normal or a threatened miscarriage or an actual m/c.

On 31st Dec the discharge became more watery red, I went to A&E who couldnt really do anything but got me a scan at EPAU for 2nd Jan.

Went for the scan, all symptoms were the same with the odd pain/cramp but nothing too unbearable. A scan couldnt detect anything other than womb lining had started to thicken, internal scan ruled out an ectopic. They did a beta blood test which came back at 89 which is low considering I should have been approx 5-6 wks.

On 4th Jan I started to get dark red blood and needed a saniatary towel, the blood was thin and runny like fresh blood but not watery nor excessive, this continued and I was using about 3-4 towels a day to keep fresh rather than needing to keep changing. I had absolutely no pains.

5th Jan I went to EPAU for second blood test and told them about the bleeding. The level came back at just 13 - was told I was or had miscarried and that was being discharged now from EPAU. I asked how long I would bleed for and she said roughly a few days to a week.

The bleeding stopped on 6th Jan mid afternoon. That evening about 9pm I started to get horrific back and cramping pains, these lasted for about 4 hours.

7th Jan got up - still no blood, but a browny mucusy discharge like I had originally got and only when I wiped. No pains either. 10pm the horrifc pains and cramping came, I went to toilet and there was a bit of pinky/watery blood when I wiped and when I leaked. The pains were exactly the same as the previous night and went after about 4 hours.

I ve woken up this morning, no blood, but still have a light brown mucusy discharge and the odd twinge where my ovaries are.

Im concerned that I ve still not passed any clots or "material", does what I ve explained seem normal ??

If I dont pass anything should I see my GP or am I just worrying unnecessarily??

I dont really know when my m/c actually started as such, I presume if my beta levels were 13 on Mon then by now they must have dropped below 5 - does that mean once u get below 5 the m/c has ended ?? Just feel confused by it all and dont really know if whats happening is normal or when to expect it to stop, I just feel quite bloated and uncomfortable

Sorry this turned into a long one in the end x

Sorry for your loss.

I would definately make a doctors appointment just to rule out infection.

I beleive once the levels are below 5 then your body is back to normal but just to be on the safe side make an appointment.

Im so sorry sweetie.

I really wish i could be more help but i was further along when i had my m/c. It does sound like you could have already had the m/c, but i would go to your GP and tell them your worries. Just tell them you dont know whats going on with your body right now and that you havent had any straight answers. Go see your doctor sweetie so you know for sure.

So sorry.x

Cheers everyone, just wasnt sure if I had allowed enough time really. Will try and get an apt for today or tomorrow and see what they say x

good luck sweety hope you get some answers dont be fobbed of if you aint happy

My first mc i was 12wks but bubs heart stopped at 8+5, i had a erpc with that. The bleeding kept on starting and then stopping. I also had brown mucus quite a few times. I was worried that i had a infection, my friend who also had the same procedure done 4 months before also had near enough the same symptoms as me. With my last three which was early ones, i had bleeding for 3-4 days and then the last 2 days brown mucus.

Personally i'd get it all checked out by the doctor.

Well I couldnt get an apt today so will try again tomorrow. Im just still getting the brown discharge but have a heavy pushing down type feeling on my ovaries {both sides} which is borderline on uncomfortable / painful. I just cant understand why i ve not passed clots - will try for an apt tomorrow to see what doc says

Thanks xx

Thinking back, with my last mc, i didnt pass clots til day 6 (yours has been longer though). Day 6 i had really bad pain on my rightside, i had to lean and hold my side as the pain was really bad. Because i was at work, i went and sat on the loo and leaned forward for 20 minutes and passed a clot (slightly bigger then a golf ball). Two days before i went to the doctor, they were worried that it wasnt going to complete on its own as my stomach was soft which i think they said my uterous was still open.

Have you tried to sit on the loo. Just an idea, not sure if it'll help though.

I havent tried that to be honest, worth a go i guess lol. I ve got the severe pains back again in my ovaries that I ve had for the past 3 nights, it seems to start between 9 & 10 pm through to 1-2am. They are excruitating at the time then suddenly die off and go away, thats another thing Im not sure if is normal.

The pains are getting me down, I hope I can get in at docs tomorrow x

Hi Jacy, sorry for your loss.....

I'm went through the same sorts the last couple of weeks, I miscarried a week before xmas, and like you had the brown discharge, alot of blood and booked in for a scan at epu, they give me a scan and told me that the womb was empty and that I had m/c.. a few days later I started getting terrible pains in my right side, it was that painfull I thought I was going to pass out..
I went to GP and she told me that I had an infection and gave me some antobiotics, It has calmed the pain down but I'm still bleeding to this day!

I hope this helps, take care...x

Well the blleding has def stopped but these pains havent - couldnt get an apt this morning so am on a call back waiting list but have been told prob wont be until after 4pm as they have been busy !

Im half tempted to phone EPAU for advice but am not sure whether I should as tech they have discharged me.

The only other thing I can think of if ts not the m/c is whether its connected to my PCOS, maybe the pregnancy aggrivated a cyst?? Im just not sure. I also restarted my pcos medication {metformin} once I knew I was miscarrying as had been told by A&E to stop - dont think its a side effect, dont recall having ovary pain when I was first prescribed it. Guess will just have to wait for my call back and take things from there

hi firstly even though i was discharged by epau they still saw me after, so might be worth a try.
also could you be ovulating .

good luck hope you get some answers

I spoke to my gp who thinks based on what i ve described that the miscarriage has ended and the pain is most likely to do with hormonal changes and pcos.
He prescribed some anti inflammatory pain relief and seems to think that will help until my body settles back down

Needless to say if things dont improve or get worse i'll be going straight back x
