Hey now ive got 5 mins to myself i wanted to share my birth story. Sat i went into hospital to check if i was leaking waters, result came back after scan and internal no it wasnt my water great really because i was booked for a home birth.
The MW though did say your 2cm dilated and it all looks good but could still be anytime weeks yet so didnt get to excited. GOT home about 6 had tea had a bounce on the ball went to bed, got a bit jiggy and was asleep at half 12. Woke at 2.10 with wetness went to the toilet and some clear liquid came out, then sat on the toilet and wow my contractions started. They were coming fast every 2-3 mins from the start, they were strong from the start and painful.

I got to about 2.45 and phoned my mum who was also going to be there as well as my OH she arrive at my house at 4.15 thats when we rung the mw they set off but would be an hr or so. My contractions just kept coming stronger and closer but weren't lasting very long. I got up thinking i needed a no2 but nope it was my babys head and then that was it we called 999 and got an ambulance. I lay on a blanket on the floor, and my body took over i couldn't stop her coming. My oh was on the phone being told what to do, and her head was out after 2 pushes. Paramedics walked in just in time time to deliver her body. She was born @ 5.04

The midwives came 30mins after ha ha a bit late, but it was all fine shes perfect 7lb 15oz, no stitches for me and feeling really well. Amazing experience, i am struggling to remember everything as it was all so crazy 3 hours in total start finish.

Wow, good for you, mama! What a story. Did the ambulance end up taking you to the hospital, or were you able to get stitched up and taken care of at home?

I had planned a home birth so mw arrived and did the rest no stitches needed, the mw stayed an hour and went. Me,oh and dd all got into bed perfect.

Fantastic birth story! Congratulations!

Glad you got to stay home and get rested up. Enjoy your little one!

That is wonderful - she sure wanted to come out, eh! Good for you and DH!

Wow this has just made me want a home birth even more! Both my labours were less than 2 hours n I'm convinced I'm gona give birth before the mw gets here haha x

I didnt stop walking around, I had a bath, but even then when i had a pain i would stand up, i couldnt keep still. I lay down to push that was it.

Well done, hope mine is like this. My first came in 3hrs 31 mins and i am convinced this one will be quick too. xx

Can I ask how long your first took?
My DD was 15 hours, 11 of those in hospital.
I'm hoping for a home birth this time and also for a quicker labour!

Well done, it sounds like an amazing experience!!
X
