My lil girls new name... would like to hear what you think!!

I think we have finally made a decision for her first name.. BELLE.

I have always liked it, but OH wasn't that keen but has now warmed to it. I just know it is right and feels right to think of her as Belle.

Only little niggle OH has is that she will get called Baby Belle (as in Minibabybel cheese) I would love to hear someone elses thoughts as we are keeping the name a secret from friends and family til she is born. Will people really call her this? Thanks

no but they may call her bell-end at school I only know this bc i had a friend called Emma-Belle and everyone took the piss out of her so she ended up dropping the Belle... Im not trying to put you off or anything, i dont see anything wrong with the name, but kids (Especially young boys) arent very grown up about things like that xx

My boss' grand-daughter is Isabelle & goes by Belle, and she is so tiny & cute! The name fits her perfectly!

I didn't know what bell-end meant... so i just looked it up... apparently its british slang

I think its a really pretty name but there may be some not very pretty nicknames to go with it problem is though no matter what you name your child theres always someone who will come up with a silly nickname go with what feels right.

OMG I had never even thought of Bellend! So babybel probably not that bad in the grand scheme of things! Oh dear it is such a hard job finding a name we like and then having to make sure it goes with surname, then to think of nicknames. It's a big responsibility naming a person! I have fallen for Belle though, so it probably will stay! Thanks for all your replies, it's good to hear other opinions!

My niece is called Belle Lani - Belle means Beautiful and Lani means flower in maouri so she's a Beautiful Flower

I think its a lovely name.

I love it! It's going to be the second name to a girl I have (if ever) and only isn't the first as I have my heart set on something else. It's so pretty and when I hear it the only thing I think of is Beauty and the Beast, but then that's one of my favourite movies. Good choice!
