My mom is telling me not to use this name.. Is it really so bad?

First of all I know this is completely my and my OH's decision and my mom has no right to tell me that I shouldn't use a certain name but anyway, I just want some opinions.

We've decided on Ivy as a first name, and my mom does like it. She hates the middle name, which we want to be Aurora. Is Ivy Aurora really so bad? My mom said its hideous and my daughter will hate it. So wdyt?

When I read middle name of Aurora I admittedly did think, gah don't like that name, but I said Ivy Aurora out loud and it goes so well, it's such a nice name together! x

ivy is adorable. we considered it for Isabelle.
Aurora isn't my style but its nice and flows well with ivy.
overall i think its a pretty name. i wouldn't mind being called it.x

I loooooove Ivy in my honest opinion Aurora is not my cup of tea so for that reason Im not keen on it as a middle name anyway . It's quite a bit of a mouthful with such a short simple name. In saying that i seem to be in the minority and I dont think for a minute your daughter will hate it xx

I've always had trouble pronouncing Aurora for some reason so I'm not too into it, but it is not an ugly name! I think if you really like it, use it. It will grow on your mom eventually

Ivy Aurora is beautiful IMO, I LOVE Aurora (even moreso than Ivy actually) and love that in itself could have the NN Rory.

Did you know Aurora means Dawn?? I read that in a baby name book haha

but back to subject its nothing to do with your mother or anyone else for that matter. My mother in law hated that I named my eldest Neli then my nanny hated me second daughters name Nancy..... I still named them what I wanted as I had to push then out so that makes me chief decision maker in my opinion

It's your baby, so your decision! We're not telling anyone when we decide on a name this time, so we don't get unsure reactions. How can anyone say they dislike a baby's name in front of them

I love Ivy, very classic and goes beautifully with Eliza! Aurora is pretty, but me and hubby are pretty geeky and i cant help adding the borealis lol (northern lights!)
