I honestly cannot believe it, but am at the same time grateful that I haven't had any worse problems.
Some of you that know me will know I got admitted to the maternity ward on 30th of September with what has been called in conclusion a form of Hepatitis. Coupled with this, it's also possible I was having gallstone attacks and other gallstones were found in my gallbladder, but at the time of the detailed ultrasound none were in my bile-duct (which causes the pain).
I'd had a mess-up GTT at 25 weeks were the hospital got my dates wrong so ended up going for a repeat at 28 weeks just after I was over my hospital stay. They were 8.5 and 8.3 but the doctors do not know if this is because the virus has effected my liver's ability to process sugars or is a genuine sign of gestional diabetes.
My BMI was 31 pre-pregnancy, and I imagine if you discount my pregnancy the amount of weight I lost in my first tri would easily put me at 30, at 29 they probably wouldn't even of tested me.
But I'm 20 years old, (21 soooon) and getting gallstones at my age is basically unheard of (they aren't cholesterol stones but rather made from bile) but basically runs in my family as far back as anyone can remember. My Grandma's pregnancies bought hers on in her late 20s so it's possible mine has just sped mine up.
But what's worrying me is that if I do have confirmed GD, I will have to change to a different hospital...and I don't drive. My current hospital is a 20 min walk, the second nearest is a 40 min train journey and probably a long walk/bus journey afterwards
I really do not want this to happen.
I sort of feel like I'm not supposed to have these problems, I want my nice, young, low-risk pregnancy...but that seems to be right out of the window now.
