myomectomy... anyone had one?

Has anyone had one? I am getting one next week due to them finding a large fibroid completely blocking my right tube and dis-forming my uterus... I am nervous about getting surgery however I am hopeful for the future? Looking for someone who has had this performed... any input is appreciated. Thanks!

I had one 3 years ago and it was successful. I have since gone though 2 rounds of IVF and am now 8 weeks, 1 day with my first. My doctor stated it was very good that I had the myomectomy, as it impacted implantation. It was an easy procedure for me - best of luck to you!

Myomectomy is the surgical removal of fibroids from the uterus. It allows the uterus to be left in place and, for some women, it will help to conceive. After surgery, chances of becoming pregnant are more.
