I've just worked out how to post a poll. :haha: We have 4 names on our shortlist now, but I'm adding 2 because last night I suggested another 2 and the discussion came about that I'd carried her for 9 months, she has each of our grans' names as middle names and HIS surname, so I should have a bit more say on 1st name. So here are the choices:

Mabel (more his than mine, but I do think it's cute and UNIQUE these days!)
Matilda (one of mine)
Bronwen (one of mine)
Isabella (his favourite but it is SO SO common now... one babynames site has predicted it as this year's number 2 name!)
Beatrice (I LOVE this)
Seren (we both like this as much as each other but aren't sure)
Francesca (his name again, and it's because if we had a boy he wanted to call him Frank/Frankie after someone very dear to him)

There are other names, but I don't think they figure as high on our list as these ones anyway.

I like all your names. I do think Mabel is cute and I like Seren xx

Thank you. :) I love it too. I have Welsh heritage and that was the one Welsh name he would agree to. I also liked Cariad and Ceinwen but he isn't keen sadly.

I like all of them but I really like Matilda and Isabelle:flower:

I voted Beatrice, love it! Agree with you on Isabella/Isobel. There have been three ladies at my firm that had babies all called Isabella/Isobel in the last 4 months!

I like Mabel too and have seen it spelt Maybelle, which I thought was a cute alternative to the "old fashioned" version.

best selection of names i've seen in aaages! they're all great. i voted bronwen, isobella is pretty but very popular lately

I voted for Bronwyn because I have always thought it was a beautiful and unusual name but thinking about Mabel now I like that too. Perhaps it's been long enough since it was popular that it is now sounding quite sweet and cool again rather than old ladyish, but I like the Maybelle spelling Mrsraggle suggested.

ETA - I do think Bronwyn Isobella sounds very nice together but none of the names fit as second names to Mabel.

Thanks all. :)

I should have said that her 2 middle names will be Elizabeth Gwendolyn (after each of our grans) and we have an S surname. The bronwen/bronwyn thing is also a bone of contention tbh, as my Welsh roots are taking me more in the bronwyn direction, but he prefers bronwen. Grrr! HAHA!

I voted Francesca- because of the sentimental reason behind it, I'm a sucker for things like that!

I voted for Francesca bc it's such a beautiful name -- elegant & classy! Plus has sentimental meaning to you...

I also think Mabel (or Maybelle) & Matilda are cute choices!

i love Isabella too but its so very popular now , its the second choice on our list and DH loves it but i am not so sure as have 5 isabellas in my DD baby group xxxx

Isabella is the only one i like but it's my favourite name after Emily so i'm biased haha

Love love love Seren. It's on my shortlist for girls too!

xxxxxxx
