Well folks this baby has been Noah from the day we found out he was going to be a boy....but me and DH have gone off it some. Mostly because every baby boy we meet seems to have the same name and we dont go in for very popular names. And also, we just arent into it that much anymore. A good job really, if we were bored of it within 9 months we would have been bored with it ten years on! But the problem now is...we cant decide on any other name. At this rate baby will be nameless. The names we have suggested, but either one or the other of us dont like are:

Damian - This is my top suggestion and has always been my favorite name. The Omen is a FICTIONAL film and I think its very sad that the name damian has lost its true meaning. Saint Damian was the patron saint of physicians and Father Damian lost his life to helping lepers.....however hubs is sure he doesnt like it, closest he will compromise is Damon, which I dont like and is actually closer to the word 'demon' than damian lol.

Max - He likes I dont...because thats my name. My birth name is Maxine, but absolutely noone calls me that, I dont like it, never have and if anyone does call me that they arent anyone important to me. Hubs says this wont be a problem as he calls me 'babe' and the kids call me 'Mum' but it feels egotistical to call a child after yourself...and Max is becoming quite popular also.

Fraser - This is my maiden name. I think it goes well with our surname, Fraser Williams. Hubs has said he doesnt mind it...but I dont think he can get passed it being my maiden name.

Liam - We both like this, but are definitely having Ellis as a second name and I am not convinced liam ellis goes together that well. Plus he will be called lee for short, not so keen on lee.

Nealan - (kneel-an) a bit of an unusual one, I came across it searching scottish baby names (I am scottish and babes will be scottish) and my dad is called Neil, the english version. I think baby would just end up being called Neal though, which is fair enough, but in that case I should just call him neal right? :dohh: Hubs is not sure how he feels about that one.

Finally we considered a boy name beginning with M like our son Mason, thinking two M names would go nice together, but Max is the only one we have come up with so far.

So thats about it. From all the millions of boy names these are the only ones we are considering and even then none of them are WOW names as such. Any opinions?

Hi there

It's hard chosing a name isn't it!!

I like Damien, it's on my shortlist for boys at the moment (I'm on team yellow..) but if your OH doesn't like it then your a bit stuck there unless you can talk him round...

I also really like Fraser, and think Fraser Williams is a great name!

Good luck in choosing xx

I really like Damien. I liked this name for my daughter! She was born early though on 06/06/06 so its probably good that she was a girl! lol. I love the name though and one of my closest friend is called Damien.

I love Max too :) and Liam x

I like the idea of using your maiden name as baby's first name. I also like the name Ellis as a first name.

Nealen is lovely as I prefer more unusual names.

Thanks folks, I wouldnt use ellis as a first name though as a friend has an Ellis for a first name. I just remembered one other name I like, but the problem is, I dont like the long version.

I like Sol as a name. But the long version is Solomon. I cant call a baby Solomon.

I think it will end up being between Damian and Nealan. It doesnt help that my dad detests the film, the omen, with a passion, he flat out refuses to watch it (or any other satan type film actually, he isnt religious though oddly) but knows the kid in it is called Damien, so I dont think he will be a fan of the name if I go for it. Argh, this shouldnt be so hard!

If i had had a girl her name would have been Neila May. So simple. Ah well.

I love the name Liam but I am biased! I think Liam Ellis goes fine. I don't know too many Liams despite it being popular according to stats put out by the govt but, I don't know of anyone shortening it to Lee. No one has done that with our boy but he has only been around for 15mths. We have the same issue with Jacob. We loved the name but now are going off it as we don't want it shortened to Jake and it seems Jacob is a Twilight character.

I love Fraser, it's on my long list but will probably get crossed off as OH doesn't like it, but I think it's lovely that it's your maiden name. Your hubby surely can't have a problem with that seeing as the baby is having his surname!

I love Liam and think Liam Ellis goes well together. Nealan is sweet but not to my taste. I thought I'd throw in some M names.......

Mica - Pronounced MY-KA
Milo
Myles
Malachy - Pronounced MAL-A-KEY
Malakai
Munro
Murray
Mac - Mackai, Mackale, Mackenzie to name a few.
