Names that fill teachers with dread!!

OMG. This is so true my daughter is called Chelsea and she is really really bad at school never does a thing she's asked not even at 12 yrs old. My son William is top 10 boy on the list for the brightest boys however i would of put him at the top as he is so clever and top of class for every subject :)

I was a teacher! Im surprised they didnt mention more "J" names- most of my naughty boys seemed to have J names: Josh, Jack, Jake, Jason, Jared. But the girls arent as easy to "predict", with the general exception of the "chavvy" rule mentioned before!

 I'm number 7. In the naughty list! To be honest I was a little shit in school though...

Me too, on both counts. I ended up marrying the deputy Head Boy though, he was always very well behaved but then his name is Gabriel...

I have been a high school teacher for 10 years now.

I disagree that teachers make their minds up about kids before they have met them by just looking at the register - but, sometimes we may have a laugh at some names! Just like everyone else.

I also will say that being a teacher and coming across so many good and naughty kids has definitely influenced my choice of name for our baby. I certainly have been put off several names because of the kids I have come across in the past.

And the list they have come up with, I have to agree they are quite right based on my experience. Jack is there at no1 but there are so many Jacks that I know of plenty good ones and bad ones!

I am actually finding it quite difficult to decide on names because I am a teacher. These popular names are a no-no for me. For example, Lauren was/is a top name for girls - in a class last year I had 4 Laurens. And in a class this year I have 3 Emmas!!

I agree that a chavvy name>>>> a potentially naughty pupil.

Maybe some folk will learn from this article and think again about calling their child Chardonnay or Chantelle?

But, it really isnt the name that makes the person at the end of the day, its the parents!
