My LO has 5 bottles a day: 1x8oz and he takes between 5 and 7oz of the others, then I offer him a 6th bottle at 10.30pm as a dream feed. I started this just after 4 months and he's now 51/2 months.
He doesn't usually take much of the dream feed, he only drinks a lot of it if he's left a lot of his earlier bottles (which sometimes happens, he's so fussy and distracted when he's feeding). So, should I only offer him a dream feed if he's not had a lot during the day? My main concerns are that I'm creating a habit of him waking at 10.30pm (he has started to stirr around this time now) and that I'm over feeding him (16lbs, 50th centile) because I've started to wean him.
Should I stop and then only feed him if he wakes up for a bottle? Or is he still young enough to be needing a night feed? My HV is very vague about it (but is actually very helpful usually) and doesn't agree with me weaning him, my GP advised that LO was ready.
Thanks in advance
